Benefits Of Legalizing Prostitution

In this essay I will prove why prostitution should be legal and why it will better the economy and help with many other problems. Prostitution can bring more money to the government, it can lower the homeless rate, legalizing prostitution can diminish the poor and bring many up to the middle class.

Studies show that many men who are looking for prostitutes and can't find them tend to go to pimps for help. Pimps normaly have underaged sex workers working for them. If prostitution was made legal it would protect minors because you would have to be a certain age to be able to be a prostitute which would limit the pimps supply of child prostitutes. Child prostitution is well known around the world and there are over one hundred thousand in the United States alone. This is even bigger in foreign countries where you have child human trafficking taking place. Prostitution doesn't give people the right to have healthcare or any of the other benefits that the normal working class has(cnn). If the workers were given employment rights they would not have to worry about having a pimp or a customer beating them and not being able to tell any form of law enforcement. “Giving them employment rights would keep sexually transmitted diseases from spreading because the workers would have healthcare and would be able to be seen by a doctor and have the tests done so that if they do have them they can use the proper protection to keep it from spreading” (businessinsider).
