From sole-proprietorships, to partnerships, and to public corporations, every company has good and bad practices. Ways of practicing good business actions are listening to the customer, solving problems right away, and treating their colleagues with a great amount of respect. However, there are ways to ruin a business such as letting any potential problems slip by unsolved, not being polite to customers, or treating their employees like garbage. According to the CR’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens 2013, PepsiCo Inc. finished on that list at number 43. Even with a company highly notice as PepsiCo Inc., they have their good and bad times during their business life. Corporate Overview- PepsiCo Inc. is a company that owns various types of soft-drink brands like Pepsi, snacks such as Lay’s, and even Gatorade. As a marketing intermediary under distribution, they sell their products to hydrate, refresh, and feed its customers with their huge food and beverage portfolio. The corporate headquarters is located in Purchase, NY. The organization spreads out all over the entire world from the United States to the Middle East. PepsiCo Inc. established in 1965 after the merger of Pepsi-Cola and Frito-Lay. They acquired restaurants such as Taco Bell and Pizza Hut during the late 1970s. Current CEO, Indra Nooyl, states, “[w]e remain steadfastly dedicated to building a profitable and sustainable 21st century corporation- one that is a good investment for our shareholders, a good environment for our employees, a good citizen in our communities and a good steward of our planet’s resources” (PepsiCo Inc. That seems to be their biggest issue, and that is something that all companies should inherit. If there is a concern or a problem, it needs to be identified immediately, and the issue needs to be solved. Ignoring the problem can lead to severe consequences or results such as consumers dying from using their product and/or suing for what company may be worth. Making sure the employees and the customers/clients happy is another importance to making a successful company. Establishing relationship with them build a family and a better company. Make sure to stick with your intentions. Reputation is vital. In the end, if problems can be solved, people are happy, results are made, and a company gives everyone a fair chance, that company will be successful.
