Orenthal James Simpson, better known as OJ Simpson was famous for winning the Heisman trophy as an all-star running back at the University of Southern California. He later went on to play ten seasons in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills retiring in 1979 to pursue an acting and commentating career. He was very well respected in popular culture for his amazing accomplishments on the football field until one night, and a changed his life forever.
On June 12, 1994, the bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, and possible new lover Ronald Goldman, were found brutally stabbed to death outside of her condominium in Los Angeles. When evidence led to Nicole’s ex-husband, OJ Simpson he fled his home before police could bring him in for questioning. This flea became famous once police cars and news helicopters caught up to OJ’s white Ford Bronco. As footage of this high profile but very slow speed police chase was being shown on every television network, OJ’s lawyer read a handwritten note from OJ to the press outside of his L.A. Mansion. This note written by Simpson read, "To whom it may concern: First, everyone understand I have nothing to do with Nicole's murder. I loved her, always have and always will. If we had a problem, it's because I loved her so much.
Recently, we came to the understanding that for now we were not right for each other, at least for now. Despite our love we were different, and that's why we mutually agreed to go our separate ways. It was tough splitting for a second time, but we both knew it was for the best.

I personally believe that he should’ve been found guilty because there was just way too much evidence against him, but the pressure from the public got to the jury. Maybe if this trial wasn’t so widely televised there would have been a different outcome. OJ is now serving time in prison for a armed robbery and kidnapping him and his friend committed in 2008. Many people believe he should be left to die in prison and not let off on parole. If he serves out his full sentence, he will likely pass away before it is finished. I just hope that he does eventually admit to what he has done, for the sake of his children and the families of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
