One Giant Hoax for Mankind: Apollo 11 Moon Landing
“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” astronaut Neil Armstrong commented as he took the first steps on the moon. On July 20, 1969, it marked the first time in the history of mankind that an American stepped on the surface of another celestial body. The lunar mission Apollo 11 was an incredible breakthrough for space exploration in America. Yet, did Armstrong and his team rather take steps on an earthbound studio and create the greatest hoax in America? According to conspiracist, the first mission to the moon never happened. Moon hoax theorists claim the Apollo moon landing was a well-executed stunt staged by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) that was …show more content…

For example, in the recorded footage there the background of space had a lack of stars. On the moon, there is no atmosphere or clouds, therefore the stars should be clearly visible. On the earth, even with clouds in the night sky, stars can be captured with a low-quality camera. But instead, the sky in the footage is pure blackness. Skeptics claim this is exactly what NASA wanted. NASA chose not to add stars to their backdrop because it would have been virtually impossible to create an accurate backdrop without an amateur astronomer noticing any slight mistake. In 1969, during the Apollo 11 Press Conference, Neil Armstrong, comments, “we were never able to see stars from the lunar surface”. However, astronomers have repeatedly claims that stars are more visible on the moon’s surface than on Earth. The first human to travel to outer space Yuri Gagarin expresses how the stars were “bright and clear cut”. Yet, Armstrong still claimed there were none visible. A few years later, in the book Apollo Expeditions to the Moon: The NASA History by Edgar M. Cortright, Armstrong tried to cover up his slip up by stating that his crew and him could vividly see the stars from the Moon. Another slip up made by NASA was using a camera on the lunar surface that cannot sustain harsh temperature
