Malcolm X, Not the Man Portrayed by the Media
“Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery.” - Malcolm X. Malcolm X‘s aims were to participate in protest efforts to secure justice for African American by any means necessary. When most individuals hear the name of Malcolm X, they tie the name to, militant proposals, radical view and black supremacy and at first it was, which attracted the attentions of the FBI and mainstream media. When Malcolm X made his pilgrimage to Mecca and embrace orthodox Islam, his philosophy changed. In converting to orthodox Islam, Malcolm X publicly rejection the unorthodox version of the faith that was set upon by Elijah Muhammad, the leader of the Nation of Islam. Unfortunately in doing so, Malcolm put his hands hand on the Nation of Islam and unfortunately got sent to the cemetery himself. Do to Malcolm X’s past it undoubtedly formed his perception of the future. Most individuals tie the name Malcolm X to radicalism. Malcolm’s name is intervened with the Nation of Islam, the negative perspective by mainstream media and a threat to national security by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; but those ideologies should not be what defines Malcom in the history books, instead one should look upon the good he did in his thirty nine year lifespan.
Malcolm X was born as Malcolm Little on May 19, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska according to the Biography Channel. The Biography Channel also states Malcom had a two loving parental figure, a father, Earl Little, a preacher who was also an active member of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) and a strong supporte...

...of Investigation to take action and target not only Malcolm X, but also other Black Civil Activist leaders. Do to the mainstream media’s negative portrayal of Malcolm X most Americans saw the black leader as a dangerous threat to the United States. Through the test of time Malcolm’s name is only tied to his radical legacy, and blatantly ignores his peaceful orthodox Muslim legacy after the break with the Nation of Islam. Individuals need to reeducate themselves on the topic of Malcom X. One needs to not only focus on his life span of political power and his close ties to Elijah Muhammad and the nation of Islam, but also his earlier life with the events he faced as kid and young adult that later shaped his view on the white community. But most of all one needs to focus on the good he did and the unity he tried to spread before his life was unfortunately cut short.
