He let McCoy spend the night at his house. Gacy awoke to McCoy standing in his bedroom doorway holding a knife. Gacy leaped out of bed to stop McCoy. McCoy surrendered, but accidently cut Gacy’s wrist while throwing his hands in the air. Gacy thought he had tried to stab him, so gacy retaliated knocking McCoy against the wall. McCoy fell to the floor, defenseless Gacy grabbed the knife and repeatedly stabbed McCoy in the chest until he was no longer moving. Gacy had walked in the kitchen to find a carton of eggs and uncooked bacon laid out on his counter. His kitchen table was also set for 2 people. McCoy had come to wake Gacy up for breakfast but Gacy had mistaken McCoy as a threat. Gacy said he felt “totally drained”. Gacy’s second known victim was said to be killed around January, 1964. The victim was believed to be a teenager between the ages of 14 and 18. Gacy was hiring people for his company “PDM Contractors”. Most of the workers at “PDM Contractors” were young high school boys. Anthony Antonucci was one of the men he boys he hired, he was 15. Antonucci suffered a cut on his ankle, so Gacy took the boy home and made him drink a lot of alcohol . When Antonucci was somewhat out of it, Gacy wrestled him to the floor and handcuffed him. Gacy left Antonucci alone in the house, but when Gacy left Antonucci had freed one of his

Infamous serial killer, John Wayne Gacy, was born on March 17, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Gacy, born into an abusive environment, was assaulted physically along with his siblings, with a razor strap if they were perceived to have misbehaved by their alcoholic father. In addition, Gacy’s mother was physically abused as well throughout her marriage and during the children’s upbringing. During John Wayne Gacy’s childhood education, he suffered further alienation due to a congenital heart condition that resulted in further feelings of contempt from his father. Furthermore, Gacy eventually came to the realization that he was attracted to men, which caused a great amount of mental turmoil over his sexuality.
John Wayne Gacy in his early years was shown to have a minor biological impairment. At the age of 11, Gacy was playing near a swing set and was hit in the head causing an accidental blood clot in the brain. The blood clot was not discovered until he was 16 years old and he suffered from blackouts from the clot from the ages of 11 until it was discovered. There was a brain blockage that medications were able to dissolve. Gacy also had a series of health problems that kept him hospitalized for a significant amount of his childhood. His health issues included a heart condition, an erupted appendix, and numerous blackouts and seizures. After Gacy was executed, there were many autopsies that were done on his brain to see if there were neurological impairments. After doing numerous biopsies, there was not a trace of evidence to conclude that John Wayne Gacy suffered from neurological issues.
A serial killer is defined in Webster's Dictionary as someone who murders more than three victims one at a time in a relatively short period of time. There is no one generic profile to identify a serial killer. They usually are people seeking for a sensation, a lack of guilt or remorse, a need for control, impulsivity, and predatory behavior. These traits make up a psychopathic personality disorder. Psychopathy is a disorder manifested in people who use a mixture of charm, manipulation, manipulation, and occasional violence to control others, in order to satisfy their own wants and needs. There are four main types of serial killers; thrill seekers, mission-oriented, visionary serial killers, and power and control killers. There may be other
Learning about Gacy and his family I pick up some things in his life that would later be unfolded after he was arrested for the murders. One thing would be confusion in his sexuality as a child. He would rather help his mother with things such as gardening, dishes and other things that would appear not to be masculine in his father’s eyes. One of Gacy's childhood friends made a statement...
During Gacy's late teens, he suffered some turmoil with his father, although the relations with his mother and sisters remained very strong. John's father was an abusive alcoholic, who physically harmed his wife and verbally abused the children. Although, John, Sr. was an unpleasant individual, young Gacy deeply loved his father, and desperately wanted to gain his attention and devotion. Unfortunately, he was unable to get close to his father before he passed away. This was something that bothered John, Jr. for the rest of his life.
Known also as “The Killer Clown”, he sexually assaulted, tortured and murdered at least 33 teenage boys and men. The execution, which took place in the old Stateville Penitentiary here, followed last-minute appeals by Mr. Gacy's lawyers, asserting that their 52-year-old client was mentally incompetent, that he was out of town at the time of 16 of the killings and that Illinois' method of execution was unconstitutional. But none of the state or Federal judges appealed to on Monday, including Justice John Paul Stevens of the United States Supreme Court, would stay Mr. Gacy's execution. Howard A. Peters, a corrections official, said Mr. Gacy was pronounced dead at 12:58 A.M., nearly an hour after the injection of three lethal chemicals had been scheduled to begin. The execution was delayed because gelling prevented the chemicals from flowing through a delivery tube, Mr. Peters
Gacy had previously been convicted for committing “deviant sex acts” and sentenced to ten years at the Iowa State Men’s Reformatory at Anamosa. Gacy had a psychological evaluation done while serving time and this evaluation was part of his permanent record on file at the Iowa Department of Corrections. Gacy was viewed as a model prisoner and as a result he was paroled after serving eighteen months. After Gayc’s release an inmate came forward to report that Gacy sexually assaulted him while incarcerated. Gacy was friendly with prison staff which is what caused the inmate to wait to report the assault until after Gacy’s release (Stevens, 2004). Gacy had access to areas that were “out-of-bounds for most prisoners” and as a result he was viewed as trustworthy and this likely influenced the parole board’s decision to allow him to be paroled after only eighteen months (Stevens, 2004, p.
Despite all this Gacy worked very hard at trying to be liked. He was an enthusiastic member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce as "Pogo the Clown" a children's entertainer.
The husband was shot first, then the wife, “Mrs. Zazzara had a large T-shaped stab wound below her left breast, Uloth said. Upon closer examination, he added, investigators discovered the horrifying damage to her eyes as well as stab wounds to her neck, cheek, abdomen and pubic areas.” After the Zazzara case the police were now sure that these murders were committed by a disturbed serial killer. However the police were unsuccessful in tracking him down. Meanwhile Ramirez brutally attacked and killed an elderly couple named William and Lillie Doi. During the next couple of months the quantity of his victims increase rapidly and the police were facing pressure to catch this psychopathic killer. Therefor a taskforce of several law-enforcement officers was established for tracking the serial killer and also the FBI stepped in to
Throughout all of American history there have been those who are well known for committing what are classified as deviant or criminal acts. Most of those who are well known by the public for their actions have committed deeds seen as extremely controversial such as being cult leaders, gang or mafia members, terrorists, rapists, or killers. The lists of members for each topic is numerous, however, there are a certain few that are more prominent than others. One criminal that stands out when speaking of killers in particular is Gary Ridgway, or as he is better known, the Green River Killer. Gary Ridgway is the nation’s most abundant serial killer, with the highest murder rate in America’s history (Gibson).
Mafia “hit man”, Richard Kuklinski is an interesting case of a different type of serial killer, which is certainly not the same thing as a mass murderer, although the two are synonymous with one another in the majority of people’s minds (Holmes 1999). Who Richard Kuklinski is, how he became a serial killer, why he did what he did, his background as a child and early adulthood, as well as this writer’s opinion on his diagnosis, if any regarding mental illness will be explored.
This paper is talking about “The Serial Killer,” but focus on Gary Ridgway- “The Green River Serial Killer.” He earned his nickname because the first five victims that he killed were found in the Green River. He was one of the most famous serial killers in the United States. Ridgway raped, chocked, killer and discarded 48 women, including many teenagers as young as 15 years old (Silja J, 2003). In Ridgway’s mind, he even believed that he was helping the police out, as he admitted in one interview with investigators (Silja J, 2003).
The green river killer was not always known by this title, before his capture in 2001 he was known as Gary Leon Ridgway. He was born in February 18 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah. (Bio 2013) When he turned 11 years old his family moved to Washington, he was the middle of three boys and was brought up in a relatively poor household not too far from the state route 99 known as “the strip” where he kidnapped a lot of his victims. (Montaldo 2011) He was known as a loner to a lot of people who got the chance to know him and wasn’t exactly considered smart in school but once he hit puberty he began to develop some sexual feelings that were inappropriate toward his mother. (Montaldo 2011) As you can imagine that can cause a lot of distress in a young boy having sexual thoughts and feelings toward his mother and it didn’t help ...
