Impacts of social media in real life We all know the infinite benefits of the Internet. It is an amazing invention and like many of life's invention, it has pros and cons and it is always up to the person to use this technology in a positive way. In this essay, I will talk about the negative ones with emphasis to social media because it is ruining most people’s life and it could be a complete waste of time if not used properly. Let’s start by highlighting the advantages of internet and social media. It is true that this technology offers a wealth of information, opening up the world to more and more people who share their daily life activities, connects millions of them who are miles and cultures apart, brings people with common interests together and gives them a continuous update and news of what is happening in society. With internet, we can make new friends, get different opinions on things like surveys, discuss educational topics including career and college planning, we can get ourselves known, advertise our brand, and also we could blog about our opinions to express ourselves in a non-violent way. Furthermore, some people use it in the work, and make online meeting or manage events. Last but not least, some studies demonstrate that most Americans received help with major life issues likewise changing jobs, finding a new place to live, buying a car, and caring for someone with an illness. For instance, imagine one of your family members just got married and sent you an invitation via Facebook or you didn't have time to call your friend on her birthday so you just leave him a message on his own profile. Those are all illustrations of a positive impact. As a result, social media has proved itself to be essential in quick ... ... middle of paper ... ...any Facebook addicted couples are facing conflicts with their Facebook activities and later files for a divorce. According to a recent study, around a third of divorce filing in recent years contained the word "Facebook". The extra information found in the Facebook is used as a proof to complete the divorce process. All in all, if there was no social media today, I don't know what the world would be like. We are in it every day, everybody is involved in some way or in another, and I think it is something people have to deal with even if they don't like it. In my humble opinion, social media is good to a certain extent, as long as there is a limit to everything. In another way, with every piece of entertainment, there is always a point where it can go wrong. However, it simply puts the responsibility back to the user who should use it carefully. So please, limit it!
