Chapter 9 Friendship, Intimacy, and Singlehood Women need friendship more then men in order to have disclosure. I have to agree with this. I love my husband, but I have this one friend that I can tell her anything. I have to say that love has every feeling all at once. You have a love for your parents as a child and you are taught that Jesus loves you unconditionally. There are all different styles of love. I guess it is just because of my upbringing as a child. My father did not show love. I had to learn what love was.

Children don’t come with instructions, but according to our book it states that their search reviled that there is over 40,000 books on parenting. Ha-ha that is a lot of reading. Children also need a strong foundation. It beings at home whether you are a married couple, a single parent, or cohabiting parents. It is important to be a part of a child’s life and know what they are doing. I have to agree about single parents having the like hood of being depressed. This brought back a lot of memories. What I try to teach my own children is that sometime we have to make our own happiness. It is not about all the money and keeping up with the Jones. It is about what make you happy at the end of the day. This chapter was right on the money when it comes to myths and realities of parenthood. It is hard being a parent even when the child is good.
