A game of football is like life. Football is a very aggressive sport, it can be dangerous at times due to all the tackling, and slamming of bodies on the field. Life can also be dangerous because of all the different obstacles people face everyday and bad things they have to go through. There are many different ways that football and life compare, they have many similarities some in which outweighs their differences. In football there are many things going on, there are goals that need to be scored, there are players that need to block for their teammates, there are also players that need to tackle the other team because they have the ball. In life, there are also goals that have to be set, there are things in life that need to be blocked, and there are also many obstacles in life that need to be tackled. That is just three of the many similarities that life and football share. One way the game of football is like life is because there are goals that have to be made. In football if there are no goals made then there is no way a team could win or achieve these goals. They need to set goals to win games or to get so many points by the end of the game. Those people might be thinking football is a game, there is no way you can compare the two. They are two totally opposite things, but football is a great thing to compare to life, they have a lot of the same qualities and things that go on. They are both dangerous, they both matter, they both have meanings. People who think football is not like life have obviously not taken the time to think and compare the two topics. If someone was to take the time to compare the two topics they would see the many similarities that they
John McMurtry, in his essay Kill Em! Crush Em! Eat Em Raw! states that body shattering is the very point of football, as killing and maiming are of war. The main points the author makes are based on words such as for the kill and casualties. There cannot be an equal comparison between war and football because football is entertainment, but by definition, war, in its purest form, is survival. The three differences in football and war are the draft, the attack, and the defense.
To describe football, regulation requires that teams win by earning the most points than the opposing team like shooting hoops in basketball or running to home plate in baseball. During the process of the game, either team will play in offense or defense in order to gain or prevent points. Unlike most sports, the game of football require an enormous amount of physical contact that
What is the most popular sport in America? The most popular sport in America would be the rugged game of football. Millions of fans wait in anticipation each year for the season to begin. The truth is the game is a very dangerous sport. It’s rooted with violence and physical aggression. Players are groomed from their youth to get bigger, faster, and stronger. Football is geared toward physical domination, get your opponent before he gets you with tackling, hitting, or by any means necessary, take them out before they take you out. Bones are broken, internal organs rupture, concussions are frequent and occasionally players die. Is the game worth the price? Is a human life worth less than monetary gain or entertainment? The answer
Football, just another method to throw life away. Football is an extremely unsafe sport, yet it is glorified by several in the United States. A plethora of football players are impacted negatively by injuries that may occur just by playing an "innocent" little game of tackle football. It is necessary to consider all the dreadful outcomes that may happen before taking the chance to play. Young individuals shouldn't play tackle football due to the trauma it can cause to the brain, the injuries or occurrences that can lead to a harder life or even death, and it leaves the players to be less sharp in their old age. It is often thought that football is a harmless game for kids to enjoy. Nevertheless, the amount of health issues and injuries that can be caused by football is unbelievable and not worth the risk.
Football is a game of adversity and emotion. People who have not played a sport or follow one closely don’t understand the emotion behind game. They think that football is just a game, but for those who are involved with the team don’t think so. All those horrendous hours of countless preparation are for something players and coaches love. About a few years ago, a football player at the collegiate level was told that he wouldn’t be able to play another down of football again due to his banged up h...

Football gets peope rilled up, something about sweaty underaged boys fighting for a ball brings people together. The boys on the team create a family within themselves and that itself brings the community closer together. Going to a football game to meet up with friends and meet new people, or to see your friend play. It doesn't end in that cinematic moment, it continues into the hallways and to your phone. These are no longer strangers, this is your community brought together by a sport.
From the early ages in history to the present day, sports have always been an important part of society. It teaches discipline, how to be a team player, how to interact with others and is a good source of physical activity. In specific, football utilizes all of these aspects of sports and it’s a great source of teaching self-restraint and perseverance. Some may say that football is a violent sport or it’s not beneficial in any way, but in reality it gives a person the basic tools needed not only for playing the game, but also how you interact with people in society.
Athletes who play football share the same goal as athletes who play soccer: score the most goals to win the game. In football, there are two areas on opposite sides of the field where one can score points by bringing the football over the goal line. Soccer shares this same concept by having two nets on opposite sides of the field where one can score a point by kicking the soccer ball into the net. Also, both sports share the concept of having an offense and defense, and both sports each have eleven players on a team on the field at a time. These are only few of many similarities between these two sports, but in actuality, they are significantly different. The rules, rituals, and concepts of both sports distinguish themselves from each other.
It is also better because they do not give you penalties where you are rewarded the chance to win the game and take an title if it's for an title then you'll lose it. The reason football is better is because in football cheating hasn’t became part of the game what I mean by that is that in soccer teams will often cheat a lot
The rules of these similar yet vastly different games are extremely complex, so only the basics are necessary to distinguish the better sport. In football, the primary rule is that you must advance the ball forward by throwing it or running with it. Once a player with the ball is downed, the entire team lines up again, and the ball is snapped to the quarterback. The short pause in-between each down may not seem significant, but it definitely takes its toll on the excitement.
There are so many other quotes about football and there are so many commercials on tv about it to so that is another reason why I think that football is the best sport to watch of all sports. This quote has been popular for a long time and i think some players do take this quote to there heart and try to

“Is it ok to watch football” An article by Ian Crouch demonstrates how dangerous the sport is to its player’s bodies and brains. Sports are in our everyday lives, but do we really play the sport for excitement or for violence? Football is a sport that is simply full of danger and threat all the time. That’s just sports; there will always be risk for injury with any sport played. When fans watch football they love to see the big hit or the game winning touchdown play to wide-receivers. Violence raises enjoyment, but it also raises the chances for life threatening injuries. There is more to football than big hits, touchdowns, interceptions, and fumbles. Many good points are stated by Ian Crouch, but he is ultimately wrong in questioning whether it is ok to watch football or not because there are many health benefits as well. These benefits include keeping one active, making one smarter, being respected by teammates, becoming a leader, making one stay in the present, boosts emotions and confidence, and it is pretty much fun all the time.
