Q2 The concept of personality underpins psychology’s attempt to identify our unique characters and to measure and understand differences between individuals. Personality describes aspects of behavior which are stable and enduring, and which distinguish the individual from others. Using the term personality in the way assumes that behavior does have stable features and does not change frequently and that those distinctive properties can somehow be measured. It is widely believed that personality is related to job performance and career success, so personality assessment is a widely used selection tool. The causes of dwindling performance of employees could be any of these factors. Firstly, employee need the necessary capability, skill or knowledge related their jobs. For example, team of marketing persons need knowledge about products and value of the products and services bring to customers. They also need knowledge to identify target market of their products and services. However employee in production departments need to have ability to work quickly and deliver the products and services on time. One of factors that affect the performance of employee is working environment and organization culture. Unhealthy work environment such as uncomfortable working environment (the place does not have good air circulation), overload working burden and unsafe working environment. Researchers agree that almost all personality measures could be categorized according to the five factor model of personality or the big five personality traits. Evidence of this theory has been growing for many years, beginning with the research of D. W. Fiske (1949) and later expanded upon by other researchers including Norman (1967), Smith (1967), Goldberg (1981), and McCrae & Costa (1987).The five dimensions of the five-factor model of personality are Neuroticism, Extraversion ,Open to Experience, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness. Neuroticism is a trait characterized by sadness, moodiness, and emotional instability. People who are high neuroticism are tend to more emotional, anxiety, sadness and irritability. However people who are low neuroticism are more clam, more stable emotionally and able to face stressful situation. For example, marketers as well as employee in production are usually need people who are low neuroticism to overcome time pressure of delivery and sale
