Reflection on adjusting to differences

I graduated high school in Bangladesh. There are many differences between the education I was accustomed to in school and the education I am getting now. Some of the differences exist due to the fact that I am studying in a higher level of education than I have ever studied in. Also these homework carry a large portion of the grade, this was never the case back in Bangladesh. While I studied in school I used to frequently not finish my assignments. But, that was completely ok because assignments did not have any effect on the grades at all. All of the final result was dependent on the exams. Also school education was much more slowly paced. The amount of information we cover in one semester in a university would take at least one year to cover in school. All of these culminated into me having far less fee time than I have ever had. My old school never put any importance on assignments but instead relied solely on tests as student evaluations. Thus, I became accustomed to not studying until the finals. This has become a huge problem for me since that habit is not compatible with education system I am currently studying in. The best way to stop this habit is to study the class notes regularly and master the lessons of each class before the next class.
