The world is changing. Our daily life routines, habits, activities, and work conditions are absolutely different than 40,30, and even 20 years ago; our pace of life is incredibly fast. Kelland (2007), in her research stated that in big cities, where the economy is developing, people’s moving speed has increased in comparison with 2 decades before. In Guangzhou people’s average walking speed has increased by 20% comparing to 1990’s, and in Singapore – by 30%. Kelland (2007) stated that scientists explained the tendency of living fast by the development of technology. Transportation and technology are giving us an ability to get from one point to another fast, receive and send messages instantly, so that we learnt how to multitask; at the same time our “to-do-list” has expanded. The question is: how do we catch up with a busy life and maintain a healthy life style? “Fast life- fast food, we spend too much time at work/school and have no more time for cooking and exercising. “ – states Michael Pollan (2008). Work and life balance has become a huge challenge. Stress and bad diet leads to diseases; one of them is diabetes. This research paper aims to investigate on a problem of obesity and diabetes, their causal. Also, the statistics on diabetes in Vietnam, UK, and US will be studied.

What is Obesity?
Mayo clinic describes obesity as a serious medical condition in which abundance of body fat accumulates to affect health in a dangerously negative way. People are considered obese when their Body Mass Index is equal to 30 and above. Mela
(2008) reports that Asians develop a negative health effects at a lower BMI than
Caucasians. Japanese consider obesity as a BMI of 25. As stated by World Health

There are over 300 000 support members This research has shown that urbanization has changed our lifestyles in a negative way. Less people are keeping a balanced diet and exercise daily. The number of obese people is increasing each day, in both: developed and developing countries. Obesity leads to dangerous diseases like diabetes. Though there are different factors that cause diabetes (genetic for example), being aware of this disease and living a healthy way reduces the risk factor of becoming sick
