In theory, democratic and socialist systems are republican governments. By definition, socialist systems claim that the country’s produce, goods, and resources belong the people who then share it amongst each other. Democratic systems rely upon the people to elect representatives and suggest or reject laws. Today, democratic governments are the most stable form of government due to its traditional organization. For example, in the United States, every four years a new president is elected using the same electoral process as years before. Furthermore, the legislature works within the same schedule that has long been established, and laws are only passed with the consent of the majority to ensure all parties have been satisfied (to some extent). Lastly, the written constitution is the formal document in democratic countries to ensure that the people will always benefit from the government by establishing permanent rights that cannot be abolished.
