Billiards is an entertaining game that involves strategy and precision. Billiards also has an interesting background with the stories that made the game. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion. There are three forms of kinetic energy: vibrational, rotational, and translational. First, translational kinetic energy, the amount of translational kinetic energy that an object has depends upon two variables: the mass of the object and the speed of the object. Second, rotational kinetic energy, or angular kinetic energy, is kinetic energy. The rotation of an object is part of its total kinetic energy, looking at rotational energy separately around an object's axis of rotation. Vibrational kinetic energy is the kinetic energy an object because of …show more content…

It all began as a lawn game similar to the croquet played sometime during the 15th century in Northern Europe and probably in France and has evolved from that point into present day's style of billiard/pool table and rules. Playing the game moved indoors to a wooden table with green cloth to simulate grass, and a simple border was placed around the edges. The balls were shoved, rather than struck, with wooden sticks called "maces." The term "billiard" is derived from the French language, either from the word "billiart", one of the wooden sticks, or "bille", a ball” (Pool Tables). The story of how billiards came to be has unique qualities such as the way the term “billiards” came to be. “The "cue stick" was developed in the late 1600's. When the ball lay near a rail, the mace was very inconvenient to use because of its large head. In such a case, the players would turn the mace around and use its handle to strike the ball. The handle was called a "queue" meaning "tail" from which we get the word "cue." For a long time only men were allowed to use the cue; women were forced to use the mace because it was felt they were more likely to rip the cloth with the shaper cue.” (PoolTables) Billiards is a entertaining game that involves strategy and precision. The physics of billiards affects the way the game is played. Billiards was a game that used to need a mace, and came to be in Europe, but now is a common basement game in country all over the
