1. Who is a professional dancer?
A professional dancer is someone who dancers either in a company, or performs in shows and in theatres. They are very passionate about what they do; this is why they continue dancing no matter how hard it may be as a profession.
2. Why viable too the SA context
A dancer is viable to a country and in specific South Africa because it brings people together. Dance should become more well- known in the country, being a dancer I think will one day have a future because dance is developing in the South Africa, more dance companies are developing and growing and the country has recognised dance as a sport (better than nothing I guess lol) There might not be as many companies as overseas but

This is called anatomy, as a dancer you need to know where your body is and the positioning of your body.
Both anatomy and music are studied in university in dance.
Project management is also a good qualification to have if you want to be a dancer, as many employers seem to want project management skills whether or not the job requires project management skills or not. Says that it is important to develop this skill as it is helpful if they want you to do a small research task or anything as big as a multimillionaire business venture.
5. Experience needed
It is important to be experienced as the more experienced you are the easier it is for you to keep up with the demands the company or employer offers you. The more opportunities you have the easier it would be for you to pick up on choreography. When an employer makes a choice on who they want to employ they will obviously want to employ a dancer who has done or has danced in more events, had more exposure, danced different types of dance styles, danced with different people and choreographers. The typical idea of a dancer is that they are tall, slender, full of energy, and lucky because they dance with all of the “stars”. Much of this is true, however, what many people do not think of are the many hardships that a dancer goes through in order to achieve their high status in the dance world. It takes much hard work and determination along with good direction to become a dancer. However, nothing good comes without a price. Dancers often times have many pressures put on them which can lead to physical and emotional damages. These damages occur through the pressures from the media, parents, teammates, and the stereotype that society has placed on dancers.
Dance is something that has been around for a very long time and throughout the years, has brought together many different cultures. Different forms of dance formed in different parts of the world and they all have different, languages, values, customs, etc. Dance in one part of the world could have a completely different value in another part of the world. And different styles have been created from past knowledge.

For the dancer, music and choreography are paramount. The music guides the dancer, and the moves express the music. However, the dance has to start from somewhere.
There are hundreds of professional dancers across the world waiting to reach their success, and out of those hundreds of dancers, I qualify in becoming one. Dance is my passion, my adrenaline, and my focus that keeps me persevering through life and its obstacles. My traits have led me to my current path in ways unimaginable. My dancing skills allow me to persevere through difficult challenges, be more flexible, and adapt to change more efficiently, while my quiet confidence allows me to be more humble.
