People in both ancient and modern societies have enjoyed playing sports in the spare time. The different shapes of athletic equipment, uniforms, and balls such as basketball, baseball, football, and soccer ball are designed differently to serve the purpose of their sports Also, each sport has been developed in various ways.

They made not only proper equipment to protect their bodies and to play within its rule but also uniforms for better identifications. The main purpose of uniforms is to identify each player. “The first uniforms were composed of a knitted pullover with appliqued team letters or names, knicker-length woven trousers, knitted striped knee socks, and leather shoes.”. As it develops, players realize that the uniforms should be well ventilated, and their footwear should be good elasticity. So “Atypical uniforms consist of a sleeveless, knitted jersey tank, shorts that are almost knee-length, ankle-length socks, and basketball sneakers. Furthermore, each player’s uniform typically has a number on the front and the back of the jersey for identification on TV and for spectators.”(Susan 2004). It means that it was important for players to give off the heat from body sweating , and a pair of comfort shoes. Furthermore, The equipment of basketball is important to protect their mouths from the sudden collisions. There are various kinds of equipment for protecting their bodies, especially the mouthguards are the most common. “These are mainly worn in sports, where there is a risk of being hit in the mouth.”(MotleyHealth 2007). To begin with, the football is thrown by the quarterback. So its shape should be elliptical for faster speed and accuracy. “Other popular difference is it has lacing on the partitions of leather strips from which it is made. The lacing is used for grip while throwing the ball with hands.”(Pedagog 2016). All the balls are made for the rule of sports games; especially, the football is made for the quarterback to throw it easier, and better. In addition, The uniforms of football should be very big because it has to be worn on the shoulder pads. There are various kinds of footwear for each position. “The uniforms contain very little or no seaming and accessory pieces. The football “boot” is really a shoe-type construction with cleats or studs that is streamlined in design to help the player control the ball and run fast.”(Susan 2004).
