Denied Affordable Health Care Accessing affordable health care is a huge problem for many right now. Some people make too much and some don't make enough. Some sit in a gap where they cannot get help, but also can't afford it. Companies have been told to offer health insurance that meets the standards of the Affordable Health care act. According to the Health Insurance Market Place, " Plans in the Health Insurance Marketplace must cover contraceptive methods and counseling for all women, as prescribed by a health care provider. Plans must cover these services without charging a copayment or coinsurance when provided by an in-network provider — even if you haven’t met your deductible" (Birth Control Benefits, n.d.). According to Religion News "Wheaton College, an evangelical Christian school in Illinois, will stop providing health insurance to students on Friday because of its objection to the Obamacare mandate to provide contraceptive coverage, a legal group has announced" (Grossmen, 2015). Colleges and young adults of child bearing years are at the highest rate of unwanted or unplanned pregnancies. Just because it is offered on an insurance plan does not mean that more people are going to use it or become sexually active due to the ability to get birth control. Only someone's own morals and values along with what is taught, can influence when a person becomes sexually active. Conclusion Women should have access to affordable health care that offers the benefits of birth control. Each woman's own belief and morals, along with the values they have been taught will give them the opportunity to choose what is right for them. Businesses and private organizations should not have the right to take away health care based on their personal beliefs. Making birth control harder to access may lead to more unwanted or unplanned pregnancies that could have otherwise been prevented or planned. A woman's health and life depends on the ability to freely choose what is best for them and their families
