What can I say about Peter Pan? Peter Pan is the boy that wouldn’t grow up. In my essay, I will explain why Peter Pan never grows up and why he is the spirit of youth. I will show why children love their youth and why they always like to stay young and never grow up. I will show why the elderly wants to go back to their childhood memories and remain a child at heart.
Peter Pan was born as a regular human baby boy, and he grew into a child. It was in that stage of his life that he refused to grow up and to mature as a man. He didn’t want to handle the responsibilities and the issues of becoming a grown up. All of these attributes ran through his mind, and he decided that he didn’t want to grow up at all. He had to have the spirit of youth to stay a boy, or time wouldn’t stand still. Without the belief of Santa Claus, it would be very hard to keep the Christmas spirit alive. Furthermore, Peter Pan and Santa Claus have an ability that they both have. They can both fly around the world by thinking happy thoughts. The children are using their own imaginations to create their own Neverlands for them to enjoy. This thought can be proven by a quote from the book, Peter And Wendy. The quote is “of course the Neverlands vary a good deal pg. 9.” A child is just like Peter Pan. A child and Peter Pan don’t sense fear. This thought can be proven by a quote from the song,”You Can Fly”. The quote is “and bid your fears goodbye.” When a child is awake, the child wants to run, jump, and play. When a child goes to sleep, the child dreams of going to a far off place to escape reality and the problems therein. This thought can be proven by a quote from the song,”You Can Fly”. The quote is “with the stars beyond the blue.” Both Peter Pan and the children have a wide variety of imagination. This thought can be proven by a quote from the song,”You Can Fly”. The quote is “think of the happiest things.” Imagination is a wonderful power that creates a vivid picture of someone, something, or someplace from a person’s mind. Colloid’s characterization, epic symbolism, metaphysical aspects, and an immense deal of archetypes all introduce the portrayal of proto-adulthood, structured education versus individualism, and humanity growing out of foolishness. Collodi succeeds in pointing out that disobedience and pleasure-seeking behavior lead to evil and unhappiness. Thereon the natural attribute of adolescence, narcissism, must be outgrown to avoid the declivity to corruptive integrity.
