I. Identify and Describe Career
I chose to gather information about mechanical engineering because I would like to pursue a career in this field. mechanical engineering is a broad subject with countless definitions at best it is simply the analyzation and creation of moving mechanisms. My grandfather always pushed me to be an engineer, because of him I've learned to do well in math and enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties of a mechanical engineer when making this decision.
Mechanical engineering technicians work under the direction of mechanical engineers to design, build, maintain, and modify many kinds of machines, mechanical devices, and tools. They work in a wide range of industries and a variety of specific jobs within every industry. Mechanical engineering technicians review mechanical drawings and project instructions, analyze design plans to determine costs and practical value, sketch rough layouts of proposed machines or parts, assemble new or modified devices or components, test completed assemblies or components, analyze test results, and write reports. There are approximately 48,000 mechanical engineering technicians employed in the United States.
Being a mechanical design engineer is not easy, however mechanical design engineering is one of the oldest and most respected engineering disciplines. Some skills that a mechanical design engineer will use in an average day are: math, physics, and chemistry principles, not to mention their imagination. With a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, one could focus on standard menial duties such as a machine operator on the factory floor, yet with this degree and additional specific education, the same person would be able to move into advanced disciplines or work a combination of the two. (A manager on the factory floor.) In mechanical engineering you can make between $46,432 and $106,848 annually.
One of the quickest growing types of jobs is engineering. With the world progressing the way it is we need more engineers to come up with new, environmentally friendly products. Our world won’t be able to hold human life as we know it forever so humans need to come up with a more efficient way of living. Taking an issue one part at a time and eventually making our world better, healthier and more pleasant is the goal of this profession. More engineers are needed than ever before because it is getting harder to come up with new and more efficient products that consumers want.
According to dictionary.com,” Mechanical Engineering is the branch of engineering dealing with the design, construction, and use of machines.” Their job is to take an idea and actually make it happen. Doing this takes a lot of knowledge and skills. They first start off with an idea that they have. Then they try to make a small module of it. They do this so they know what the product will work without spending a lot of money on it. They have to find the right materials to do this. The materials have to be able to withstand a lot of things nature has to throw at it. Like rain, dust, lightening, and many more things. After they have to make sure the produce is safe. When all of this is done they build the real thing.
It has taken a very long time for me to decide on the path that I wanted to take for my career. I have almost always known that I wanted to be an engineer. I was always more interested in applying my knowledge to solve problems rather than just research and understand the world.

The first car that was ever ran by an engine was produced in 1885. Without automotive engineers there would be no progression in the automotive industry. Throughout the years automotive engineering has improved and new technology has advanced the ways in which automotive engineers consider the historical background, the educational requirements, the work environment, the duties and responsibilities, the wages and benefits, and the potential for advancement of an automotive engineer.
related career. For instance, in order for someone to become a mechanical engineer one will need a bachelor’s or master 's degree. All S.T.E.M. students must learn calculus, and depending on the major students might have to learn more math. For example, all engineers have to learn differential equations and linear algebra. According to bls.com, there are 258,100 mechanical engineers today, but the industry is projected to grow only ten percent. They will 11,600 new jobs for mechanical engineers from 2012 to 2022. Mechanical engineers design and produce transportation equipment, machinery manufacturing, vehicle systems (such as hybrid-electric cars), clean diesel vehicles, alternative energy project, remanufacturing, and nanotechnology. Mechanical engineers are projected to experience faster than average growth in oil and gas extraction if they enable the knowledge and skills regarding thermal energy. Mechanical engineers make typically $80,580 a year. Salaries range between $52,030 and $121,530. In conclusion, there has been many people who love building, designing things but are insecure about their math skills, and they have still became successful mechanical
I want you to think back to what might be the greatest invention ever. Dependant upon how well you know your history you could possibly say the wheel, the car, the airplane, the television, the autonomous robot. All of these are great ideas that have different eras in history, but they all have something in common, these creations were all invented by engineers. Do not get the misconception that engineers have been around since the dawn of time but the concept of engineering itself has. Those great revolutionaries all had ideas and solved problems which are still qualities that engineers of this day and age use. Webster defines engineering as, “the work of designing and creating large structures or new products or systems by using scientific methods.” Those people created new products so they would today be considered engineers, but they are slightly different. What makes them different is the field that they would be considered a part of. The broadest one of the oldest forms is mechanical engineering, which is my future profession.
My decision to become an electrical engineer was not a decision I took too long ago. It is something that I decided to pursue when I entered a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) high school. It was then that I realized how much I enjoyed working with computers and building circuits, and the fact that this career involved many subjects. Doing a lot of research to understand better what it meant to be an Electrical Engineer, I found out that in order to succeed in this career one had to know a little bit of everything. In other words, subjects such as science and math are essential to know if someone wants to be successful electrical engineer. An electrical engineer is someone who finds practical solutions to everyday problems that involve electricity, such as computers, cell phones, among other electrical equipments. In order to create a useful device one must know where to start and this is where science comes in. An electrical engineer must be able to use the scientific method, which means; one must form a procedure, test it out, and write a conclusion. These parts of the scientific method must be written clearly, so that others can recreate and test out a device or project. Math also plays a key role in this area of study, because one must be precise when creating a new device that others are going to use. For example, if one were to create a new type of cell phone one must know a lot of math in order to be able to progr...
