We would like to talk about Eskimo. The word, Eskimo, was first created by Indians, which means the people who eat fresh meat. However, the most of Eskimos did not like this name, hence they changed the name to Inuit which means “true people” in Eskimo language. Distribution of Eskimos was extremely widespread in Arctic Indigenous Peoples. Eskimos moved to Canada (Greenland), United States (Alaska), Aleutian Island, Russia (Siberia). The number of population is about 90,000 people. Their religions were mainly Traditional animism and Christianity. The Eskimos came from the North of China after two times of migration into the Arctic, they looked like Tibetan who had yellow skin and black hair. (Inuit, n.d.)
Original Eskimos emerged in western Alaska and they spreaded eastwards across the Arctic after they crossed from Siberia four thousands years ago. Most of them chose Ungava Bay and the east coast of Hudson Bay to live. In the past, Dorset Eskimo had all the quthorities and they had possessed the territory for over one thousand years.
