The movie Black Panther is Marvel Studio’s most recent additions into its superhero franchise. This marked the eighteenth film into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the introduction to the story of the superhero, Black Panther. Currently listed as the highest grossing film of 2018 with $1.3Billion worldwide it also was the third highest grossing film ever in the United States. Although many of the superhero diehards were excited to witness the origin story of another Marvel character, it quickly become one of the hottest topics across all media outlets. Jordan, as the main antagonist of the film. Viewers watch as the character grows up to become one of the most tantalizing super villains to have ever been featured across all Marvel films. Although Erik is portrayed as the main antagonist in this film, the character could have easily represented the film’s main hero. Erik’s goal was to become the new King of Wakanda and the new Black Panther. Although his intentions were portrayed to be malicious he intended to share Wakanda’s technological advancements with others around the world who were experiencing oppression. When an employee of the film walks over to assist him, their exchange ends with the man explaining the true origin of one of their exhibited pieces. He stated that the weapon was “taken by British soldiers from Benin, but its from Wakanda…I’m gonna take it off your hands for you” After the woman states that the items are not for sale this is where the man’s tone changes. “How do you think your ancestors got these, do you think they paid a fair price? Or did they take it like they took everything else” (Black Panther, 2018) We learn that this exchange was actually scheduled to take place and that the man earlier slipped a drug into her coffee. This set up the opportunity for a robbery. This man was a member of a team assembled by Ulysses Klaue. Klaue was the same man who stole vibranium from Wakanda with the assistance of N’Jobu. Klaue was captured, rescued, and then later killed by the same man who aided him in stealing the vibranium artifact. King T’Challa, the protagonist of the film, then becomes involved in the matter since he himself was in hunt for Ulysses and the missing vibranium. After being severely injured during Klaue’s escape CIA agent Everett K. Ross was brought to Wakanda to have emergency surgery. When he awakes, he is greeted by Shuri, T’Challa’s sitster.
