Ben Tomasino Ms. Hinkebein En-100-24 6 November 2014 Epic Rap Battles: Obama vs. Romney In the history of epic rap battles, there is one that stands out more than any other. That is the battle between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. In this battle, the comebacks sting a great deal, the lyrics are creative, and the insults were very relevant at the time of the election. These are the three criteria that I used to judge this epic rap battle. When the smoke cleared and the dust settled from the epic battle, it was my conclusion that Barack Obama won. Before I go into detail on this epic battle, I want to give some background info on the two rap warriors. With this quote, Obama is dissing Romney’s religion, which is Mormonism, or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the Mormon religion, people do not practice polygamy, but there is the stigma out in the world that they do (Do Mormons Practice Polygamy?). This makes Obama’s insult to Romney pointless for a few reasons. One of those reasons is that there is no fact behind what he is saying. Obama did exceptionally well when it came to making great comebacks that were entertaining and witty. He was also extremely creative and had more exciting comebacks than Mitt did. Finally, Barack’s insults were more relevant to the election than Romney’s were. Taking all of these things into account, Barack Obama is the clear winner of this rap battle.
