Bruce Willis once proclaimed that, “Art imitates life and, sometimes, life imitates art. It is a weird combination of elements.” And weather it be movies, TV shows, or even music, we are all exposed and influenced by the media. However, while the media may be influential to society, it is still a business and a complicated one at that. Everything in entertainment starts as a business and how the public responds/receives it is what makes it social. This business can have both positive and negative effects on society. It all depends on how far the entertainment business pushes the envelope.
The entertainment business only cares about what sells. If scary movies are really popular that’s what they’ll produce. Just like if rap or country music is popular that’s what they’ll play on the radio. Miley is known as the “twerking queen” and...

Society has always mirrored the entertainment industry and I personally find it quite interesting. If you look at the first TV shows, they were very morally sensitive. Married couples were never shown sleeping in the same bed, you never saw divorced couples, and kids were never shown disrespecting their parents. So naturally, society became very morally sensitive as well. Society started to change as the entertainment industry changed. Stars such as Elvis Presley started pushing the envelope and society followed continuing the cycle. Leading us to where we are today. It will be interesting to see how far the envelope gets pushed before it bursts.
