On February 20th I had the pleasure of sitting down with Mrs. Cynthia Stripsky the General Manager of Chuck E Cheese for an interview. The interview took no longer that 15 minutes, however I left with a wealth of information about being a General Manager of a store. I chose to do my business interview paper on being a General Manager because in two months’ time I will be applying to be a general manger for a store opening in Irving, therefore I wanted to get a leg in on what to anticipate and expect when I receive my promotion. The interview provided me with a lot of information about what the job entails. The number one was the amount of time I will be putting in on the job. The average hour per week for a general manager is about 55 hours a weeks. And general managers are required to work every Friday, Saturday and Sundays due to the fact that those are the busiest days of the week. Every first Monday of the month the general manager is usually at work for about 12 hours getting the bills, schedules and inventory done for the coming month. This job requires an individual who has good time management skills. I also learned that the educational requirements for the general management position at Chuck E Cheese are minimal. The company prides its self on hiring from within that the only thing required is to complete the management ladder that is provided by the company. If you are coming from an outside company, then the requirement is at least two years’ experience as management. However when you actually apply for the position there is an assessment test required during the hiring process and an individual just has to pass the bar required for being a general manager. The hiring process involves putting in an applicat...

During my interview with Mrs. Stripsky I was able to learn a lot about what the job as a general manager entails. What she revolved to be is that a person in this position needs to have great interpersonal skill, attention to detail, basic math understanding as well as time management. With these tools then you can build a great team that will make running a store a little bit easier. The job itself is not easy it requires a lot of time but there are also great benefits and pay off that comes with the job. To be general manager for Chuck e cheese you don't need a degree however experience is necessary as well as passing the assessment and drug test.
Being accepted as a manager by your colleagues is one of the most notable high point in anyone’s career. Rising within a company is a goal most of us share. Organizations always need leaders - individuals who can emotionally form individuals into a committed team focused on one goal. However, at a certain stage, organizations also need generals - individuals who balance process and risk in order to maximize the organization's chance for success. It is refreshing to know that there is a company that cares about serving quality food fast, that has compassion for people, that knows how to have fun, and that takes advantage of every opportunity to impact the community for good. That company is Chick-fil-A, Inc.
Just as with Erec, the origin of Enide is widely debated. There are two basic theories of how she came into existence in medieval literature. One theory is that it was Chretien De Troyes who created the characters Erec and Enide, and it was the Welsh that drew off of Chretienís work in order to fabricate their own tales of the two (Owen xvi). This theory may have evolved due to the fact that "Wales contributed very little, or even nothing of importance to the Arthurian legend as it developed in France, and Germany and then in England" (Jones and Jones xxv). Chretien was therefore given the credit because of his extensive writings on the Arthurian legends, and the fact that he was French. However, a more widely accepted theory is that the story of Erec and Enide was derived from the Welsh (Jones xxv). Evidence supporting this theory is that of the "comparative folktale, of proper names and linguistics, and what may be reasonably if tentatively deduced from the methods of literary composition in the Middle Ages" (Jones xxvi). Due to the fact that no one is sure who wrote about Enide first, the task of finding where she first appears in literature is daunting undertaking. Nevertheless, we are able to fill in some of the gaps as to where Enide is mentioned in some texts. Circa 1170, Chretien De Troyes wrote Erec and Enide that can be found in Chretienís collection entitled Arthurian Romances. Erec also appears in The Mabinogion, another collection of Arthurian tales. In this book, Erec, also called Geraint, appears in the tale Geraint son of Erbin. Lord Alfred Tennyson includes Enide in two out of the four Idylls of the King. Both "The Marriage of Geraint" and "Geraint and Enide" were written between 1809 and 1892. Enide also appears in some lesser-known, more modern works. These include two plays: Ernest Rhyís Enid: A Lyric Play (1918) and Donald R. Raweís Geraint: last of the Arthurians (1972), and Marion Lee Reynoldsí poem Geraint of Devon (Lupack).

My grandmother used to say that what you dream about for your life may not be an exact fit for what your purpose is. The career that I would love to have is to be a publicist. My career goals consist of being a founder and CEO of my own PR firm. So, for my career research, I was trying to find a person who is similar to my race, gender, and spirituality. I wanted to understand the field that I am interested in by interviewing someone who has the same background as I do. By interviewing someone with the same similarities as me, I would get a sense of what my obstacles would be as well as how to overcome the obstacles. Assigned to this assignment, I knew that the overall process would be a little challenging. However, I underestimated those challenges. In my head, I knew exactly what type of person I wanted to interview for this assignment. Again, the person I wanted to interview had to be a faith driven, black or a woman of color, who founded and is a CEO of her own company. I felt like since I had a specific professional in mind, finding a professional would be challenging. In my essay, I will discuss further on my experience of using my network to find the professional to interview, the process of setting up my
