Schools in the United States of America (USA) are facing many challenges, because of the increasing numbers of the English Language Learner (ELL) students. School administrators are trying hard to provide an equal opportunity education to their students. Furthermore, educators are looking forward in providing several methods and technique to help their students to succeed in their academic learning skills. There are many factors that need to focus on and it can be the fundamental when trying to build powerful resolutions, such as parents and community resources, social influences, native language, etc.

ELL Families and Schools

Teaching is a call, where teachers need to have an understanding about each individual student’s cultural background, and to be conscious of how the greatly collision of social influences can be on the students’ success. This can lead to train and educate teachers to become more perceptive learners about students' lives, and it helps teachers understand, identify, and sort information about families in ways that more brightly illuminate the possibilities for effective teaching (University of Arizona, 1995). Through training, teachers can build respectful thoughts, and admire the diverse cultural families, on the other hand, teachers should show authentic interests in learning about their culture, such as their country, language, customs, beliefs, etc... This can guide in building bridges of communication, acceptance and self esteem in our students, and their families.

Bilingualism is one of the factors that teachers need to take into account when working with the ELL student’s, because we plan instruction to build their language skills that will be used in class. Meanwhile, we need to help our students...

...he most important aspect is to trust and understand the family background, as it can help enrich the relationship between home and school. Teachers have learned through FKT to view their students in a positive and prosperous way. Seeing them as cognitively, socially, and culturally capable of offering abilities, skills and knowledge to all those around them. It is going to be extremely important to get the student’s parents involved in their education, and have teachers to create a working relationship with them. By following these steps, students and culturally diverse parents can feel that they are welcomed into their child’s education system. Parents, will try to become more involved and participative it heir child’s education. They need to have a place where they can talk about their frustrations, needs, and successes as well as the needs of their children.
