Engineering Ethics can be applied to many thing in today’s life. Almost everything that we touch and use every single day needed to be approved by someone before they are sold into the market. Some things requires a higher quality of life because it might end up affecting someone’s life. I am going to talk about engineering disasters and why it is important that we learn from it and build a better engineering ethics corp. This phrase is taken straight from the code of ethics given by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. It holds all of the electrical engineers in this institute to a higher standing of their code so people do not half work on their job and call it complete. This project should be completed fully and safely so it will not endanger anyone include themselves. Codes like this makes people be sure that they know what they are doing and will be doing it to the best of their ability. ABET sets the highest standard for the people that they accredited. “Accreditation also is a crucial credential for students’ success in the job market. Most employers, including the federal government, require it as a validation that a graduate took courses that provide the relevant training and skills for engineers. So do many agencies that license professional engineers” (PRISM). This is important because the set a standard that engineers have to follow so they are not bad at whatever they are doing and will keep the ethics high. For most companies they will not even look past your resume if you do not come from a ABET school or have that on your resume because they give out the standard. It is important for people to have higher ethics code because people will be using the things that engineers make, and it is good to have someone force that higher code onto someone because it makes it safer for
