Sports have been around since the beginning of time but did you know each sport is its own discourse community? You may now be asking what is a discourse community? A discourse community is a group of people who share information and a way of staying connected with other people for a variety of reasons. I bet you didn’t realize that Endurocross is classified as one, well I’m here to tell you all about its community. Here is some background information in case you don’t know what Endurocross is exactly, it is a challenging sport that requires a lot of hard work and patience along with numerous hours of practice and determination. In Endocross the rules are pretty much endless because there are so many different types of machines you can find the complete list of rules at http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/Racing/Rules.aspx. These rules are made to make sure that every rider is treated equal and fair no matter of the type of machine you have, the size of your motor or whether or not you are male or female. You may be asking, “What is my role in this discourse community?” Well I have been involved in this discourse community off and on all of my life. Every time I am at the races I always have fun for me it is a way of reliving my stress. I don’t race alone, I race with my father which is great because I get to spend time with him and we always make memories that will last a lifetime. I am involved in numerous other discourse communities but Endurocross is the easiest for me to write about. As you might be aware discourse communities can be found in every shape, form, and fashion all over the world. Some communities can be exciting while others are just mild, every community differs in many ways but in other ways they can relate to each other.
