Furthermore, “his first big hit was “Heartbreak Hotel” in 1956, and it was followed by many more, including “Hound Dog” and “Love Me Tender” (Barber 94). A while after Elvis went to the studio to record “My Happiness”, Sam Phillips encouraged him to work with guitarist Scotty Moore and bass player Bill Black to record some songs together (Nelson). Including the many songs named before, Elvis recorded many different songs, improving Rock ‘n’ Roll and many other heavily known song types.
