In Elmer Kelton's "Politically Correct or Historically Correct" he mentions
about the way people see and describe historical events. Some people can describe
an event completly diffrent then how another person is describing it simply
because it was seen in a different way then the other person. In fact, it could even
be because one of the people is describing or telling the event the way it was told
to him by someone else or simply because it is the way that he wants to interpret
that event. Many of the people that write about historical events have a tendency
to leave the bad side of it and always talke about the good side of things.
Most of the historical books where written by men, or that is what most
people think. It is very difficult to find a book written by a women especially if it
was in the West. Kelton stated that there were books written by women but it was
difficult to find them. Actually this is true, but it has changed, through out the
year, there have been more books written by women and other minorities.
Kelton also talks about some civilizations that were established to the south,
in Mexico, like Aztecs, and Mayan, and about how they were built by fighting,
enslaving, sacrifices and the destruction of others. This kind of gives you an idea
of how these civilizations came about in Mexico and what kind of civilized people
they were.
Indian tirbe would fight about everything, most would not recognize other
tribes as the same race, but as being a different tribe, an enemy. Many of the
people from these tribes were killed because of a battle that arose over hunting
rights or simply because they were diffrent.
A lot of the things that Elmer Kelton talks about in his work "Politically Correct or
Historically Correct" is just to inform the readers that history did not always
happen the way it is described, written or told by historians and writers. Some
people see history in different ways for the simple fact that they do not see them in
However, men were not the only ones. Multiple women began expressing their thoughts in print. The first American woman to support herself as an author was Hannah Adams. She published books on religious history and

It’s truly fascinating how there are so many different approaches to history, how so many different types of minds and schools of thought can come together to study the events of the world’s past. There are so many ways to approach what happened in our past, and the groups of historians previously mentioned are only a fraction of the actual number of different ways of researching and thinking that exists as it pertains to the study of history. History is in some ways, always a mystery, and all historians, regardless of schooling, training or biases, seek to accomplish one goal: to understand what occurred before us and why, and to use that knowledge to learn how the world was shaped into the world we live in today.
Women have a different way of viewing the world, because of the culture not the nature. They tend to write diaries, autobiographies, poetry…because the cultural context in which they write asks for that kind of literature .
During the Renaissance, it was looked down on when women read anything other than the Bible. People thought that women must have Divine intervention to guide their interpretations of literature; if they did not they were looked at suspiciously (Krontiris).
From the start of the book we can see that women in the book are
The institute of Marxism or in other words political correctness, it started in Germany 1923 the main purpose at that time was to find way to implement communism in Russia. As we all know that communism believes in social group not individual. Political correctness deals with social communication it is concerned with replacing offensive words that are considered as discriminating against certain section of society. Robert Allen also defined political correctness by saying “the political correctness movement is also devoted to promoting an alternative terminology that seeks to assert a move positive aspect to negative qualities”. from the begging of the term political correctness it went through three stages the first used favorable to those whose views remained in sync with every shifting Bolshevik party live, the second stage was in 1960s and again it was used favorably by the new left radicals. The last stage was when it was used negatively by the conservatives in America. Political correctness has three categories the first is offensive like gay or retarded these words refer to people as insults for undesirable concept. The second one is subtle like policeman and mailman, this words effect our way of thinking because they implies that those roles are for men only, the last one is blatant like n-word to refer to black these words are very offensive. In summary politicl correctness is term used to describe language to minimize offence(I love English language). The paper discusses political correctness with articles that are with and another that are against it.

There are many female writers, some known better than other. Female writes most of the time focused their stories in experiences or personal point of view on what is going on around them. Other women write fiction of unusual worlds and character that people can relate to with the struggle or experiences. Margaret Atwood the “Canadian nationalist poetess is a prominebt figure concerned with the need for a new language to explore relations between subjects and society“ (Omid, Pyeaam 1). Atwood wrote her first novel called, “The Edible Woman”; this first novel categorized her as feminist, based on the main character of a strong woman. In an interview with Emma Brockes, Atwood affirms, "First of all, what is feminism? Second, which branch of it? Am I against women having rights? Actually, no. Am I really a puppet of the women's movement? No, I'm too old for that. I've been writing since 1956 and there was no women's movement in sight at the time”. Atwood does stands for women’s right but she never thought of being feminist while writing her stories. Atwood writes about strong women because just like any other female they are tired of reading about weak and submissive woman in books. Is clear that Atwood began writing before the woman movement started and that means she was ahead of her time. Atwood’s works is not just feminist her works represents her art and the way she feel about the world. Margaret Atwood is a poet, critic, novelist, and activist. Atwood’s stands for issues that trouble her and that she sees that are obstacles for her community. Through her entire writing career peoples can see that culture, science, feminism, and environment is reflected in her words and her expression to tell a story the only way she can. Her sho...
The feminist perspective of looking at a work of literature includes examining how both sexes are portrayed
Women roles have changed drastically in the last 50 to 80 years, women no longer have to completely conform to society’s gender roles and now enjoy the idea of being individuals. Along with the evolution of women roles in society, women presence and acceptance have drastically grown in modern literature. In early literature it was common to see women roles as simply caretakers, wives or as background; women roles and ideas were nearly non-existent and was rather seen than heard. The belief that women were more involved in the raising of children and taking care of the household was a great theme in many early literatures; women did not get much credit for being apart of the frontier and expansion of many of the nations success until much later.
One of the most problematic problems about world history is the stance taken when looking at history f...
Gender equality, men and women having the same rights and obligations, and everyone having the same opportunities in society, has been a topic of discussion for man and women for centuries (Dorious and Firebaugh). For many centuries, women have used literature as a voice used to defend their rights as women. Female authors achieved extraordinary success in literature functioning in a culture that frowned upon female literary desire but men still dominated the profession (Dorious and Firebaugh). Until well into the nineteenth century, it was common for both male and female writers to publish under a pseudonym. Fiction was a genre that was frequently published anonymously. Fiction was considered a low genre of literature leading many authors to detach his or her name from the piece of fiction. For women especially, the cloak of anonymity was particularly essential (Dorious and Firebaugh). Female proclamation and self-revelation were viewed as unwomanly. Therefore, writing under the identity of a man’s name would protect a woman from criticism for unladylike thoughts. The male alias could potentially increase a female’s chances of receiving an unprejudiced review. Throughout history, women have had a weak voice in the literary world due to fear of the power women had and the lack of respect for female authors.
