Over nine million people in the Philippines were affected due to an enormous and strong tornado called “typhoon Haiyan” which took place in early November 2013. This tornado has resulted in the destruction of three whole islands of the series of the Philippines islands. This event calls to mind the previous historical tornados that resulted in massive destruction. The tornado Sandi, a strong tornado, hit the United States in September 2012 and translated its power as devastation in the south eastern coast of Miami, Florida. This topic gets narrower illustrating the change that occurred due to the human activities that altered the environmental balance. For instance, exhaust fumes from cars we drive every day. Many people argue that this environmental change is not a result of human activity, but as a matter of fact, it is the result of the ever changing nature that never stops. In addition, these arguments even suggest that this change is crucial; that it helps the people living on this planet to continue their life cycle in a way that the environment balances all of the positive and negative effects. This environmental balancing phenomenon forms by summing it up to result in a net zero change in the environmental status toward the human beings living on this planet. However, the excessive change that we are witnessing in the last two decades is beyond expectations. Therefore, the overall impact of human activities by gasoline cars, impact the environment through their process of manufacture and consumption compared to electric cars, which need to replace gasoline cars because of their ability to consume renewable resources of fuel, and to be more environmentally friendly.

...le as possible along with being friendly with the environment that the whole humanity lives in. It is time today, more than any time before, to implement practical steps to rescue the “soul” of this environment that is suffering from various harmful activities that are caused by human beings, before a point is reached where it would be too late for us to fix the environmental status or even to change our habits that we were used to it.

Increasing environmental awareness, coupled with a responsible American government and improved technology, have all contributed to the comeback of low-and zero-emissions vehicles in the US. It remains to be seen whether the automakers and oil companies will once again work to halt this progress, or embrace it as the technology of a more responsible future.
The Automotive, or electric car industry particularly, comprises all those companies and activities involved in the manufacture of electric motor vehicles (EV), including most components, such as engines, bodies and rechargeable batteries or another energy storage device. The industry’s principal products are passenger automobiles. Despite the fact that the first electric cars were produced in 1880s , the advances in internal combustion engines, especially the electric starter, soon diminished the relative advantages of the electric car and became the dominant design in the market. Due to this the EV was almost a forgotten industry staying in the early stage of development, conforming to less than 1% of the automotive stock
A revolutionary environmental impact to pollution is provided by electric cars which produce zero emissions and provide a replenishable fuel resource. Toxic emissions into our earth’s environment would be reduced immediately as gas powered, pollution emitting vehicles are replaced with non-polluting, battery powered vehicles. Not only will pollution be reduced, but the means that power these vehicles are a renewable resource. Electricity can now be created by environmentally safer means, such as hydro-electric dams, wind farms, and various types of power plants proving a sound resource. With a safer, less polluting, renewabl...
(Gilpin, 2014) According to Tesla, the efficiency of electric cars is three times that of the traditional gas engine as most energy is lost through the heating process.(Gilpin, 2014) There are two types of electric vehicles in production today, BEV’s and PHEV’s. BEV’s or Battery electric vehicles run solely on energy stored in a battery that is recharged at stations. These cars have an operating range of 60+ miles and take about 6-8 hours to recharge at a station.(Gilpin, 2014) Those who need to travel more than 60 miles in a day could face problems with this. Those that may need to travel much farther in a day would be wise to choose the PHEV’s or the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. These vehicles run on both electricity and gasoline. They can run on electricity alone for up to 40 miles until it makes the switch to gasoline acting like a hybrid. This means that after they switch to their hybrid mode, they will use both electric and gasoline powered until they are charged again.(Gilpin, 2014) While in hybrid mode the PHEV’s can run up to 400+ miles before needing a recharge. (Gilpin, 2014) The relevance of electric cars is spiking. Especially in bigger cities that have air quality issues, the demand for transportation with limited emissions will be a huge
As humans delve into the twenty-first century, scientific research continues at an exponentially increasing rate. While the work of researchers seems to affect people in positive ways, the common debate among the general population is whether or not there is a limit to how far scientists can take their research and impact the future of society. The changes that scientists induce upon society often escape foresight, such as diseases, dangerous paints, and other products that do not pass the test of time. One big issue that is fiercely debated is how to go about switching to alternative-fuel-source automobiles, given that the world’s supply of oil will run dry relatively soon. The electric car seems to be the best candidate as a replacement for the moment, but many people are still weary about completely discarding the trusty internal combustion engine for an invention barely as old as the people who will buy them. The electric fuel is promising, but it has not been around long enough to undergo the test of time needed for mass acceptance. Here the more direct question arises: is the electric car the solution to a more economically responsible car?
...is destroying persons and the environment….What I am suggesting is that it might be the only chance for the turning of human beings from a course leading to the deterioration and perhaps the end of life on this planet.” ³
A notable automotive manufacturer had asked Heliotrope Enterprises to conduct a detailed research on hybrid electric vehicles in terms of cost effectiveness, affordability and environmental issues. The main purpose of this research was to recommend a vehicle which is not only fuel efficient but also partially or fully dependent on electricity as compared to the conventional cars. The hybrid electric vehicle is the new generation car which works partially on electric battery and partially on the conventional combustion engine.

Alternative fuels and hybrid vehicles can one day play an important role in reducing pollution. The prospect of developing more sustainable energy has become very prevalent today as dependence of nonrenewable resources becomes less viable. Alternatives fuel sources include: ethanol, biodiesel, hydrogen and electricity. Incorporation of these alternatives into the production vehicles can be beneficial to society. The research and development of hybrid vehicles is a rapidly expanding sector which grows in importance with each passing day. As the price per barrel of crude oil increases and various supply shocks affect the economy, emerging technologies in the automotive industry can help curb some environmental issues. Despite facing challenging shortcomings, hybrid vehicles could potentially help reduce harmful emissions, and reduce dependence on foreign oil thus brings forth emancipation from the crude oil chokehold.
The introduction of more commercially available diesel and fully electric vehicles has started to impact the sales figures of hybrids which is surprising to me because of the natural deficiencies that the hybrid vehicle has to overcome to be more effective both in environmental savings and cost savings to the end user. I believe that some combustion automobiles offer equal if not greater environmental and cost savings over hybrid vehicles. I believe this because the manufacturing and disposal process for batteries is very damaging to the earth, and the longevity of the parts is less than that of a normal vehicle. Also, if measuring environmental impact by comparing fuel consumption, many diesel cars are able to achieve greater miles per gallon than similar hybrid vehicles.
Most people today fill up their car with different qualities of petrol, because that's what the average car takes. They don't usually consider an alternative for the petrol that they load into their cars. Although petrol is widely used, it is not the only source for a car to get its power from; diesel and electricity are alternatives to the general petrol used by most cars. Although different from each other, diesel and electricity are alternatives to the average gasoline received at a gas station. Diesel is a more concentrated type of fuel that is usually used by big automobiles because they require a lot of power in a little amount of time. Electricity is a method that uses the power of batteries to produce a low horsepower but, nevertheless fast automobile. Electric cars are generally created to be soundless and environment friendly. The purpose of this paper is to classify and educate the reader of the different types of fuel available for an automobile to use: petrol, diesel, and electricity. The general petrol, used by most people, is usually the only type of fuel accepted on the average car in the United States today.
Stenquist explains electric cars might get their energy from coal, wind, nuclear, and solar sources; in addition, these capabilities which improve the environment by reducing the detrimental sources. Stenquist (2012) asserts that electric cars can better reduce the global warming emissions from the gases, which result in a cleaner environment (p. 2). Furthermore, the author interviews several people to
There is no doubt that electric cars are the most appealing from of transportation in the world. They provide two of the most important key points of good transportation: reliable and efficient. They are reliable due to their simplicity of their power trains and the advancement of technology they have. They are efficient because they don't use any gasoline and because their motors can pass the zero-emission standard. Even though they may seem like a boring form of transportation, they offer good features that help keep the Earth's air clean and they help reduce pollution.
...we humans created the problem with the environment, and only we can solve. We have to solve it, or nature will solve it for us.
The search for means to limit pollution caused an interest in electric vehicles. There are two types of pollution that we face in this society. Air pollution is caused by gasoline burning internal combustion engine that causes lung problems such as bronchitis, asthma and lung cancer. Noise pollution is also a problem with this type of engine. Excessive noise on regular basis has been shown to jeopardize physical and mental welfare. [1]
