Effects of Teen Pregnancy

An estimated 750,000 teens will become pregnant this year.(DoSomething.org). Since the early 2000’s, teen pregnancy has gone from unmentionable or taboo experience to one glorified in television and movies. Teen pregnancy is the heart break of America and the people it will affect. Nine out of ten people know someone who has or will become pregnant and end up going down a path of no return. Teen pregnancy ends dreams and lead teens down path of hardships, and emotionally disparity. This example has caused some people to look down on this fundable trend. Effects of teen pregnancy are homelessness, government, health problems, population, and parent’s involvement.

Teen pregnancy can be looked down at as discuses, and irresponsible behavior. Most pregnancy’s happen to more underprivileged people and families. According to A Report of the Institute for Children and Poverty/Homes for Homeless “Children having Children: Teen Pregnancy and Homelessness.” “Fifty-three percent (53%) of the teenage mothers residing in shelters were themselves the product of adolescent childbearing.” (Children 4). Homeless children born into these families seem to struggle in life. The phenomenon has caused the United States to have the highest teen pregnancy rate in the industrialized world twice as high as in England or Canada. In order to prevent teen pregnancy nurturing environments develop and maintain personal connection.

Some teens hope their parents mistakes want become theirs. Teen pregnancy websites have been around since 1999; when the first website for teens about sex went up.
