One of the most severe consequences of drinking alcohol before birth is Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS). Any means of exposure to alcohol before birth can result in some very crucial problems. The minimum quantity of alcohol consumed during pregnancy is unknown. However clinically speaking, mothers who drink more than approximately five drinks per occasion, once per week are highly likely to give their child FAS. Despite all the knowledge researchers have found, there is still no answer to if there is a safe dose of alcohol that a pregnant woman can consume without having the risk of FAS. FAS occurs in 1 to 2 live births per every 1,000 in the U.S each year. Estimates show that roughly about 40,000 babies are born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome each year. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome affects child development in very distinctive ways. FAS affects child development by causing difficulty with learning, social interaction, and many physical characteristics.
Learning is a crucial factor in a child’s life, and, without it, children will have a difficult time getting through life successfully. A child that suffers from FAS deals with many problems like having tough times understanding anything that happens in a classroom such as not being able to read properly or speak without messing up the order of the words (Wise “Health Disorder Review. This makes their symptoms even worse because teens can't see the consequences of their actions. Maintaining organs is vital for a person to live but with FAS, it's hardly possible to guarantee that all the organs are healthy.
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome affects child development in very distinctive ways and causes the development of a child to be almost abnormal. Some symptoms affect children by having learning disabilities. A child loses the beauty of friendship along with trusting others. People who suffer from FAS have no control over themselves; therefore they can't see any consequences. Overall it's vitally important for a fetus to grow in a non-alcoholic environment so he or she can be born and brought up in a caring and loving way.
