The biggest rainforest in the whole world is getting smaller by the minute. The amazon rainforest according to “Wikipedia’s”, “Amazon Rainforest” Factually states “The Amazon Rainforest is in nine countries, stretching from the east coast of south America to western part of south America. Out of the seven million kilometers of the amazon basin the rainforest covers about five million kilometers of the basin” (1). The rainforest that supports so much life from the different type of species of animals, and insects, or the many different kind of trees there.

Death is happening to the ozone layer, (which protects us from the ultra violet rays from the sun) which has been depleting over the years. The death of many species of animals, insects, and nature. Also the death of many people either help destroy the rainforest or trying to help save the forest by protesting. In a complex theory since the all the trees and land is being destroyed for agriculture, people can also think about all of the death to the animals that are being breed there for food. The world is very large and full of land. Many questions people have when they hear about the deforestation going on in the Amazon Rainforest is why they are destroying it and what are they going to do with that extra land. The answer is in “Indicators of deforestation in the Southern Brazilian pre-Amazon”, Mariana Egler and her colleagues ruthlessly declare, “Results have shown that 85% of state deforestation was concentrated in Southern Pre-Amazon and was closely related to increase in number of cattle and pasture area. PCA results pointed that population (92%), number of cattle (86.5%), pastures (84.2 %) and tractors (78.4%) were variables with the highest positive correlation to deforestation” (264). That study shows that one of the main reasons for the deforestation was for them to put pastures with cattle on them. People are just trying to make money off of the land in the amazon. Big businesses and companies know that the world is growing and people and everyone needs to eat. Since the population is getting larger by the day and the worlds resources aren’t people are trying to come up with ways to help. So, they’re destroying the Amazon to have more room to graze animals that we can feed off of. Some might say that by destroying the rainforest it is helping the needs of the hungry.
