Introduction
After World War II, the UN with the help of various world leaders drafted a document that would guarantee rights to every person everywhere in the world. This document, known as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, was adopted on December 10, 1948. In Article 26 section 1, of the document it states that “everyone has the right to education” and later on in section 2 it states the logic behind such statement by saying that education helps develop “full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.” It also states that it encourages tolerance between different religious and racial groups which helps with the maintenance of peace (United Nations, 2014).
An argument can be made that education is a privilege and not a basic human right that should be given to everybody. However, many studies and articles have furthermore contributed to section 2 of Article 26 by providing evidence that if seen as a right it can help with the economic and social development of a country. Over the course of this paper the many problems that can be solved by funding education and different solutions that have been called into effect by various world organizations, including UNESCO and the United Nations, and countries around the world will be examined along with the effectiveness of such solutions.

Education is seen as the solution to many of the problems that our society faces today. Gender gaps can be decreased by including women in the educational system, which would further allow them to take part in the economy and political aspects of their society. Also education helps provide students with the views that thy have on the world helping them be more open minded toward other people’s culture and their political pints of view. Also education helps provide us with a population that makes more conscious decision with the well-being of future generations in mind. Poverty is reduced, and a more peaceful world is created. With the aid of world organizations and governments, solutions have been implemented with most of them showing promising results. However, we are a long way from education being available for every single person in the world.
