Today in the year 2000 there are many definitons of the word ecstasy. Deriving from the middle english word, exstasie, it has gone from being a state of overwhelming emotion to one of the most popular drugs in the "club world"today. When I ask my parents what they think when they hear the word ecstasy they say,"You, your sister, and brother in Disney World." Well times have definetely changed. I asked about fifteen people in my dorm what they think when they hear the word and all of them said the same thing; drugs.
Ecstasy is a feeling you get when you are totally happy. Everybody has their own definition of what the word means to them. What it means to me being an eighteen year old girl in New York is completely different to what it means for someone being forty-five and living in Alaska.
What ecstasy is for me changes all the time. Right now it would be not having to do any work, not having to go to the gym or diet, not fighting with my boyfriend or friends, not having stress from my parents, etc. I asked my sister what her ideal ecstasy is and she said, "Having a date for homecoming and a perfect dress." I then decided to ask my parents and they're answer was, "Perfect health and total happiness for our children." If I ask myself this question in a year my response will be totally different.
You can tell how differently people use the word just by listening to the radio. When I hear Eminem use the word in his song, "This ecstasy got me standing next to you" he is referring to the drug. When Tony Braxton used the word in her song, "And I'm in ecstasy" she is referring to the feeling. When my friends are talking about ecstasy they are talking about the drug. I don't even have to question what they are talking about because I know already. Ecstasy to them is the drug and only the drug. This is not because they do ecstasy or other drugs it's because that's all they think of when they hear the word. When it comes to my parents it can be either.
Sometimes they'll want to ask me questions about the drug or warn me and other times they are talking about the feeling. Ecstasy the drug has many names.
Ecstasy is mostly one of the drugs that they want to push the legalization use of it. Many people outside of raves think it would still be a horrible idea to include ecstasy at raves due to the effects of what the drug does. People who attend raves said that they should wear bracelets and sell the drug to people over the age of 21. The problem with that is many people have health issues and they just ignore the fact that the drug can cause serious injuries or damage the brain. Ecstasy has a lesser rate of death and overdose issues, but probably would not happen. If it were to happen they should the limit or the usage of the drug so people would not over dose or cause a lot of health issues. Raves should allow a health of the people who is going when they purchase the tickets and should be prepared of what they are doing and what is going to happen. (“Drug
The creation story from Genesis, and Popul Vuh are great examples of how different cultures believe the world was created. Creation stories are the base of every culture. The stories demonstrate beliefs and values used in the culture. People are easily entertained by reading creation stories. Creation stories lead the readers to investigate information about the culture. Scientists are able to utilize creation stories to decipher mysteries that were left unresolved from ancient times. Albeit all the differences among creation stories, there are copious parts which are

LSD stands for Iysergic acid diethylamide. LSD is a hallucinate know to be the most powerful drug of this kind. LSD is commonly known as acid. This drug changes a person’s mental state by distorting the perception of reality to the point where at high doses hallucination occurs. Acid is derived from a fungus that grows on rye and other grains. It is semi-synthetic. It’s manufactured chemically in illicit laboratories, except for a small percent, which is produced legally for research.
“Ecstasy”, a drug with many different opinions and views, is often viewed as a killer, which is a stretch of the truth. The drug is sometimes thought of as one of the worst things in the world, but also as the best. Health issues are a problem and there have been some deaths .The deaths though are no way near the number of alcohol or cigarette deaths. How could such a beautiful word be considered such a horrible thing . Ecstasy can kill, but you can die tomorrow by being hit by a car or getting shot, why not live your life to the fullest. Live everyday as if it were your last, but don’t be stupid about it. Ecstasy does not kill a person, that’s just the excuse they use for ruining their life or killing themselves.
This is an analysis of Christopher Columbus’s Letter on His First Voyage on page 381. Christopher Columbus wrote a letter to his King and Queen of Spain, while he was in the West Indies. He wrote this letter in February 1493 reflecting on his voyage across the Atlantic in 1492. After reading this letter, I can tell that Columbus felt like he was better than the native people of the different islands he journeyed and that a lot of things they did were very strange to him. I can also tell that the world was a lot different to him and to people in 1492, than it is to people in 2014 because he referred to the native people of the various islands he traveled to as Indians, whereas most people in 2014 know that India and Latin American are not the
Throughout human history people have sought experiences that somehow transcend every day life. Some sort of wisdom that might progress their knowledge of self and of the world that they live in. For some reason they believed that the tangible world just could not be all there is to life. Some believed in a greater force that controlled them, some believed of invisible beings that influenced their lives, some of an actual other world that paralleled their own. Many of these people also believed that it was possible to catch a glimpse of these forces, beings, or worlds through a variety of means that propel individuals into altered states of consciousness. These techniques include meditation, hypnosis, sleep deprivation, and (what will be discussed here) psychoactive drugs, more specifically psychedelic drugs.
...t is better to categorize happiness as a state of mind because happiness has no particular way to measure it, you are either happy or you are not. It is success that makes a person happy, their contentment with what they produced themselves. We are in control of our own fate and happiness; you can only be as successful as you allow yourself to be.
Consumers in India are incredibly price conscious, and Apple recognized that people were not going to go out and spend upwards towards six hundred American dollars, especially when many of them are investing in this kind of technology for the first time. Again, Apple chose to not make a product exclusively for India to cater to the cost conscious consumers. Instead, they have chosen to emphasize the iPhone 4, which they are able to sell more inexpensively because of the fact that factory infrastructure is already developed and the prices for the phones components have actually decreased. As a result, Apple has created a sustainable strategy that allows them to satisfy demands in foreign markets without having to tailor their
Prior to the period of slavery, the majority African family structure was in the realm of 2-parent households and was the main importance for everyone. However, during the period of slavery and beyond, the 2-parent household has been transformed and its looming effects are still in place today. The effects include the phenomenal increase in female-headed households and also the increase in households with individual living by himself or herself. African-American family structure has been inconsistent, and it has a tremendous impact on the children. Statistics have shown that African American males growing up without a father are more likely to end up in prison (Krampe & Newton, 2012). It is important, as the children are dependent on the family in terms of obtaining success in the future. In addition, the single-parent mother ends up taking new roles as mother and father for the child. This topic has many aspects, which showcase the prominent influence in
The origin of the world has been a topic for discussion since the early days of theology. We can all see this matter around us; the sun, moon, trees, and wildlife, but where did it all come from? The first book of the Bible, Genesis, gives two separate explanations for this phenomena. In Genesis 1:1 through 2:3 the first account of creation is given, and in Genesis 2:4 through the end of chapter two the other explanation for creation is described. These two stories depict creation in different ways, but the underlying story in Genesis 1 and 2 are fundamentally the same.

Happiness is a state of mind. The dictionary definition is "feelings of joy and pleasure mingled together”. A feeling of happiness is more than just an experience of joy or pleasure. It is a state of mind where the individual feels that “life is good”. As Aristotle says, “happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” I believe that everyone wants to be happy in life. One is abnormal if he prefers to be sad and alone.
