Through many instances in the history of mankind, the bloodshed of millions of lives has not only brought forth a more prosperous society, but also pushed humanity to the greater attainments in individual expertise, social regulation, and cultural developments. In more than just one way, warfare is magnificent. And The Iliad, The Odyssey by Homer and Aeneid by Virgil are among the most prominent works of ancient literatures on warfare that help prove the values of this mechanism. In the ancient times of Greeks and Romans, war is an executor of justice and breeders of champs. It laid foundation to great civilizations even till the present days of the modern world.
This has made military science fiction one if the most well respected genres of science fiction for it ability to indirectly criticize modern society. My Integrated Project explores the relationship between how technology that has arisen from war has been some of the most innovative and why war has become an unshakeable aspect of human existence. It seems since that dawn of the era of man we have always been in competition with one another. We have fought countless wars over every issue imaginable, with many great civilizations being founded and destroyed by war. Though with each new conflict comes newer and better technology.
The United States of America is the most powerful superpower in the world. It is a superpower and it has the duty of maintaining peace in many countries faced with internal as well as external conflicts. This is a country that has been in countless wars since the ages of world wars. During the First World War, the U.S was a neutral player not in definite support of any side. However, during the Second World War, the U.S was a late participant and played a key role in ending the war.
World War One took a toll on everyone between 1914 and 1918. What were some of the main causes and effects of World War One? There were many causes to World War One but one of them was the Cult of the Offensive. According to class notes on 4/4/11, countries should not wait to be attacked, they should attack first. The Cult of Offensive was “a military strategy of constantly attacking the enemy that was believed to be the key to winning World War One but that brought great loss of life while failing to bring decisive victory” (Hunt, 803).
Rome fitted to their enemies by building their army and trained them correctly. Without any doubt in mind, Rome had one of the best military states that there ever was. The totally rude requirements they enforced upon their enemy united with the massive amount of lost fighters in this war seem far larger an effort than was crucial to put an end to the war. My opinion of this is that this war ended up being an essential milestone in our records and at the same time, it was essentially utterly needless. The Civil War is known for its brutality and fierce fighting on both sides that led to one of the greatest wars in the history of the world. The war was vigorously contested and fought with courage and pride for one’s beliefs. The war would tear apart a country and reunite it stronger than ever, the country regrouped and began building a stronger infrastructure and a brighter future. The Civil War will never be forgotten and will always help define a country, a people, and a way of life. The Civil War has revolutionized the United States, and greatly affected not only the United States but also the world.
But the only motive of war is not to bring peace but to capture a nation and become a master (ruler) of the nation. The world has seen many wars but its motive is to show off its supremacy over the nation. By the end of every war a hero will be established who had destroyed thousands of life for the sake of his nation and for pride. Every literature had its own skill or potential to depict war. Bravery, valour and chivalrous nature of a warrior will be delivered through his action in the war.
During World War I, propaganda was widespread in most countries. Propaganda took on many forms and the primary function was to reinforce to the citizens of a nation that war was intrinsically heroic, and conversely to destroy the morale of the enemy. The actual business of physical injury had added the more subtle process of slaughter of morale, a far more difficult, but none the less effective, method of warfare. The Germans have for a long time preached it. They practiced it from the first, 'frightfulness' being merely the German interpretation of the theory of the destruction of morale.
The Saxon war was the most persistent, yet hostile war he fought because of the determination and severity of the enemy. However, the questions remain: “What actually caused the Saxon war? What gave it life? What are all the different events that occurred during this war? What are some of the strategies used during this war?” The wars he fought resulted in his success as a ruler and as a historical figure to reflect on when considering the greatness of kings.
They had lost much territory and now were practically in debt for the damages which they had done during the war (1). These countries figured that the only way for them to get out of economic depression and revive their country was to take land from other countries, which was one of the reasons why the war began. The main countries which were involved in World War II were Germany, Japan, and Italy, which were known as the Axis Coalition, against the United States, the Soviet Union, and many other countries. Overall World War II was seen as the most devastating war in human history. Each country had different types of weaponry and artillery which proved to be vital in the result of the war (World War 1).
