Ebola has been going around in the media for quite some time now. People are wondering if they should fear it or if the U.S has it under control. This disease is not a new disease, it's just been getting spread more now and is getting spread rapidly. Ebola has been out there for about 40 years in small places, it is a deadly disease and there are also plenty symptoms to this infection called Ebola.
Ebola is spreading more and more every day and more people are dying because of this disease. In 2013 most people didn't know nothing about Ebola and didn't even know this disease existed. This infection was first identified in 1976 but did little harm that they did not make a cure for it. This disease can be spread through having contact with another persons blood, saliva, and sweat (Brooks). There are also some information that shows that a person who did not have Ebola did use a blanket from someone who did have Ebola and got the disease just like that (Altman). Ebola destroys the body and that's bad enough and it's even worse that they don't have no cure for this illness. First the symptoms start by having headaches and also the throat starts hurting while the muscles and joints hurt so it makes the person feel weak (Wilmore). Then after a while the person starts vomiting and having very bad diarrhea while having bad stomach pains (Wilmore). Then the skin randomly starts getting bruises (Wilmore). The Ebola Outbreak spread panic and suspicion throughout the world, similar to how the witch trials spreading hysteria around Salem. With news of Ebola spreading and mutating quickly, the world flung into panic (Ebola {2}). No one knew who all had come in contact with, or who was carrying the deadly disease. Similarly in Salem, people don’t know who is a witch, nor do they know if witchcraft has even been occurring (Salem). Regardless if the accusations were true, a mass panic spread over the people of Salem just like what happened with the Ebola outbreak.

It’s probably not even threat, in America that is. It has the potential to wipe off humans. I first learned of Ebola in in my last year of middle school from a short documentary. The little information gained since then has sufficed but after reading The Hot Zone by Richard Preston my perception on the Ebola virus grew. Not only does Preston tells the tale of an Ebola outbreak in America, but his writing keeps tension throughout the book.

This makes it possible for the virus to be spread by sexual activity. Complete recovery is reached only when none virus’s cells are left in any body fluids. This is quite rare.

Dr. Steven Hatch’s memorable journey began with him volunteering to leave for Liberia in 2013 to work at a hospital in Monrovia to fight Ebola in one of its most affected areas. After six months Ebola was declared a world health emergency and not only were ordinary people outside of the hospital getting the virus but the medical personnel that were tending to the patients had caught it and some of them had even died.
