From July 1942 to August 1944, Anne Frank, Margot Frank, Mr. Frank, Mrs. Frank, Mrs. Van Daan, Mr. Van Daan, Peter Van Daan, and Mr. Dussel all went into hiding in the Secret Annex. Life in the Secret Annex had its up and downs. For example, the eating conditions in the Annex were intriguing. Also, there was a lot of fighting between people in the Annex. Along with the fighting, there was also many relationships between the families. The conditions in the Annex was very interesting.
Eating conditions in the Annex were okay. Since they were in hiding, they could not leave to get food. So, Miep and Mr. Kraler would bring them food, like on page 285. In the beginning, Miep and Mr. Kraler brought them better food, such as bread, cabbage, milk, and other food like that. Later in the story, Mr. Van Daan stole some of the food. For example, Anne and Peter hated each other in the beginning. They were always fighting and annoyed by each other, like on pages 292 and 295. But after a while, Anne and Peter started spending more time. They kissed multiple times on pages 340 and 350. Another interesting relationship was Anne and her mother. At first, Anne stated and showed she didn’t love her mother. When Anne got a nightmare, on page 312, she asks for her father when her mother comes and rejects her mother’s kiss. Later on, Anne realizes that she was being rude to her mother and starts loving her. One more relationship is Mrs. and Mr. Van Daan. There was multiple time where they were recorded fighting, like on pages 295 and 298. Also, even though they were married, Mrs. Van Daan flirted with Mr. Frank. For example, on page 298, Mrs. Van Daan talks about how she should have met Mr. Frank before she met her husband while Mr. Van Daan was in the room. Furthermore, on page 297, Mrs. Van Daan flirts with Mr. Frank by showing him her legs. Given these points, there was a lot of relationships in the Secret
