I. Topic
My topic is Early Childhood Development and this is the finding to know if attending pre-school or head start would actually help the child’s development and have the child more prepared for kindergarten. This topic is based on the social learning theory and how each family teaches their child differently.
I have chosen to do my topic on the Early Childhood Development because of my practicum being a developmental center (Inspire), also because I have a passion in working with families and children. This appeals to me because I know that if the families enroll their child in the pre-school program the child will benefit from it and will be more prepared for kindergarten. Bandura said “Most human behavior is learned observationally through modeling: from observing others, one forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later occasions this coded information serves as a guide for action” (2005-2016). According to Bandura (2005-2016) a person’s personality has been linked to three components: Behavior, Environment and one’s psychological processes meaning one’s ability to entertain images in their mind and language. Research question
Research question: Will early childhood development, have a bigger impact in children’s social skills, than those children who do not attend preschool?
The children that have a learning environment structured by teachers and children will be more prepared for Elementary school because they learned how to cooperate with one another and put their social skills to play with their classmates.
