The reason for me of wanting to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout is a matter of wanting to do better than the norm. It is often tempting to want to sit around and accomplish nothing, only desiring instant gratification. My ultimate goal in life is to have a successful and sustaining career and to be able to have a happy wife and children. By getting the rank of Eagle Scout, I can show myself that my hard work and perseverance can pay off and that I am only one step closer to reaching the future that I desire. Another reason for wanting the rank of Eagle Scout were all of the lessons learned from my Eagle Scout project and all of the years of experience in scouting beforehand have taught me. I participate in Scouting because I want to grow and live my life to the fullest, so why not aim for one of the highest achievements in Scouting, the Eagle Scout award? It promotes success to young boys and gives them the opportunity to be proud of what they can do and what they can learn, as well as have those skills available to them so that later in life, they will be glad that the already have had those lessons with them, even if they felt it was difficult for them to understand at the time.
