AG. E. E. Cummings was born into a rich childhood, which led him, in the 1920s, to writing poetry that has engraved his name in the stone of time. E. E. Cummings was known for his eccentric poetry.
He was born on October 14, 1894, in Cambridge Massachusetts His loving parents were Edward Cummings, and Rebecca Clarke. They thoughtfully gave him the name Estlin Edward Cummings, his middle name Edward coming from his father, Edward (Reef 2). Edward was a beacon of purity and encouragement throughout Estlin’s entire childhood. He would set a shining example for his son to follow (Reef 3), “My father was a walking platonic triad, the good, the true, the beautiful” (Kirsch Web). Edward was also a jack of all trades; teaching at harvard, preaching at the church, and building his own houses. His mother was loving person, “The most amazing person I have ever met”. Loving and caring to all, she ran the household tenderly as a matriarch while Edward was away (Reef 2).
Estlin tried to live up to his father’s example, even though it was quite difficult for him. He had great awe for his father in his childhood. When he moved to Harvard, he had mixed feelings for his father. When he was a child, his father worked at Harvard as a teacher, and Estlin was hoping that he would be able to go there and learn under his father (Kirsch Web). When he did get to Harvard, he was not a very good student. He enjoyed painting, music, writing, but couldn’t stay on task working out assignments and learning. Estlin started wiring in the Harvard magazine, Harvard Monthly. While writing for Harvard Monthly, he became friends with some great writers; John Dos Passos, Gilbert Seldes, and Robert Hillyer. With his new friends, he rebelled against old beliefs, moderni...

The government implemented Lasissez-Faire, they were not going to touch the economy. They would stand by and watch the economy grow, or go bad. Some people saw that the stocks were getting high, a little bit too high. They were rising to dangerous levels, and people thought that they were going to make money off of it. This rise in stocks actually caused the stock market to crash (Bruccoli Layman 84)
Most people thought that Estlin was a guy just out there for the “fun” of life. He was highly individualist, and didn’t like sexual purity. He would have sex with almost anyone, and he wouldn’t conform with anyone’s ideals for him. He was ahead of his generation, thinking and exploring the world freely.
Edward Cummings was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1894. His father was a professor at Harvard, leading Cummings to attend Harvard from 1911-1915 (Poetry for Students vol.3). At a young age Cummings showed a strong interest in poetry and art. His first published poems appeared in the anthology “Eight Harvard poets” in 1917. During WW1 Cummings volunteered for the French-based ambulance service and he spent four years in an internment camp in Normandy on suspicion of treason (Poetry for Students
renewal through the implementation of “planned change” (Spector, 2010). Planned change, according to Cummings and Worley (2009), fundamentally concerns the process of changing organizational behaviors. More specifically, new behaviors must replace old ones or be adapted to or integrated with existing behaviors to enable successful change (Palmer, Dunford, & Akin, 2009; Schein, 1993, 2004). This paper outlines the three stages of Lewin’s model of planned change – unfreezing, movement, and refreezing

conflict and accord. Many hospitals employ the use of charge nurses, but there have never been any set guidelines that distinguish the duties and role of the charge nurse (Connelly, Yoder, & Miner-Williams, 2003). As we have learned from various research studies, patient outcomes are greatly influenced by adequate staffing and nurse satisfaction rates so it is
and Improving Relationships The effectiveness of a political navigator depends on strong interpersonal relationships built through competent communication and respectful action (Cialdini, 2001; Gilley, 2006; Lewicki, Barry, & Saunders, 2006). As Cummings and Worley (2009) observe, “Establishing a healthy relationship at the onset makes it more likely that the client’s desired outcomes will be achieved . . .” (p. 81). Therefore, as a consultant, the author predominantly relies on two sets of sequentially
health problems in the current society. There is a myriad of possible factors that can contribute to hypertension, such as the cardiovascular system, reninangiotensin-aldosterone system and sympathetic nervous system (Foex & Sear, 2004). This research paper aims to study the dysfunction of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system in pathophysiology of hypertension and the effects of an antihypertensive drug, losartan on the angiotensin II type 1 receptors in response to the disease. Authentic assessment, though sometimes referred to as performance-based assessment is not a new idea, in fact its history dates back to the 1950’s. With more than half a century of debate on the subject in varying branches of thought, this paper will focus on a few of the key concepts of authentic assessment as seen through the lens of an artist. An investigation of the literature begins with a brief look at the historical concept of mastery as was practiced through the ancient system of patronage

Culture is learned through enculturation and commonly shared by the members of the society. In this paper, three types of culture are briefly discussed which include dominant culture, subculture and counter-culture. The first type of culture is dominant culture. Quite often, the dominant culture is reflected as orthodox and universal in society. The dominant
places technology on a high pedestal. This pedestal contains all of the hi-tech, yet sophisticated gadgets, gizmos, and all of the other novel items that are inundating our households. Items such as computers and cell phones enable us to communicate via e-mail, text message, and video (Stodden, Roberts, Picklesimer, Jackson & Chang, 2006). Innovative items may be taken for granted but if we understand their significance and how they help us live in a technology driven and dependent world then we are
Change Management The purpose of this paper is to discuss organizational change and the management of that change. I will talk about the different drivers of change, the factors a leader needs to weigh to implement change effectively, the various resistances a leader may encounter while trying to implement change, and how various leadership styles will effect the realization of change. I will also discuss the knowledge I have gained through the completion of this assignment and how I think it
