Statistics show 16- to 17-year-old driver death rates increase with each additional passenger, which is due to distracted driving. Taking your eyes off the road for 2 (two) seconds, at 60 mph, means you have driven blindly for half the length of a football field. The risk of fatality is 3.6 times higher, when they are driving with passengers than when alone. For many years, the correlation between driving behavior and age has interested highway safety researchers and administrators. It is general knowledge that the greatest risk of motor vehicle crash...
Driving while drunk is one of the very dangerous things in the life of a driver. Drivers who work under high Blood Alcohol Concentration also known as (BAC) usually expressed as a percentage of ethanol in the blood consisting of alcohol per volume of blood or alternatively mass of alcohol per mass of blood. These drivers are at a great increase of car risk accidents, vehicular deaths as well as highway risks. Drinking under the Influence commonly known as DUI simply refers to driving a motor vehicle while one has level of alcohol in their blood exceeding the legal limit. This is not limited to alcoholic content but covers other drugs that include but are not limited to prescription drugs. This leads the driver to lack coordination, experience double vision, brief blackouts and have a slurred speech. Driving under the influence causes brain impairment leading to a person feeling that they can manage a situation just like they have always handled it before. This is always as a result of poor reasoning and judgment which leaves one vulnerable to the deadly effects of drunk driving.

Lee’s most likely charge would be of aiding and abetting his co-accused, Mark, of causing the death of Brian by dangerous driving. However Mark, the driver, would have to be found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving first before Lee is charged. This is because there can be no aiding and abetting of a crime that has not been committed.
Teens need to be taught that driving is a task that is complex and demanding. Parents know how much experience a young driver has, and they know exactly how inconvenient it is when they have to drive with their teen everywhere while they have their permit. Teens tend to cause most traffic accidents in adults’ eyes. They are not experienced yet, and often fail to pay attention to others on the road. They often think of a car as being some type of toy, but they do not know how powerful it really is. The driver education programs must be strengthened in order to make sure that students really have safer habits, behind the wheel experience, and by having a better understanding of all the laws on the road.
My biggest accomplishment throughout high school so far has been learning how to fail. Not necessarily falling flat on my face in a viral video, but instead just barely coming up short and not being able to reach a goal, despite my best efforts. Although I was unaware of it at the time, failing my driver’s test on my first attempt would become a life altering incident.
Throughout the 2004 drama, Crash, societal gender roles are made apparent. The leading character, Rick Cabbot, is a powerful district attorney in L.A. and his spouse is a domestic housewife. He is independent and successful while she is dependent and unhappy. After dinner one evening, the couple is walking to their vehicle when they cross paths with two cautionary characters, Cabbots wife pulls herself closer to him for protection. He is strong and serves as a protector for his weak and powerless wife. Crash is one of the agglomeration of media sources which project gender norms. Constructivist gender theory claims that “the experience of being male or female in Canadian society is fundamentally a
Every minute many people lose their lives in the world. A large amount of those deaths are caused by things that can be completely avoided like driving under the influence. Driving drunk is very dangerous and something that is inevitable to cause bad things and drinking is totally futile. Drunk drivers are devious when they drive and create a lot of pandemonium on the road. How many people will have to get injured or even die before we realize how dangerous drunk driving is?

Abstract:Driver fatigue is one of the major causes of accidents in the world. Detecting the drowsiness of the driver is one of the surest ways of measuring driver fatigue. In this report, we discuss a method for detecting drivers’ drowsiness using Haar Classifier[I] and Template Matching Algorithm. The system then subsequently alerts the driver in order to prevent accidents. It works by monitoring the eyes of the driver and sounding an alarm when he/she is drowsy with the help of a camera that points directly towards the driver’s face and capture the video. Once the video is captured, monitoring of the face region and eyes is done in order to detect fatigue. The system monitors eyes and determines whether the eyes are in an open position or closed state. In such a case when drowsiness is detected, a warning signal is issued to alert the driver. If the driver’s eyes are closed cumulatively more than a standard value, the system draws the conclusion that the driver is falling asleep, and then it will activate an alarm sound to alert the driver. Yawn component is detected using Template Matching Algorithm to detect whether the driver is yawning or not and
IntroductionLast year a student from my high school was killed in a drunk driving accident. As shocking as the death was for many students, people still continued to drive while intoxicated. This year two of my close friends received DUI's and numerous people I have encountered have also been convicted of Driving Under the Influence. Working at a local bar, it is very seldom that I see a person choosing to remain sober because they "have to drive", and I began to wonder which gender was more likely to drive after consuming alcohol. I hypothesize that men are more likely to drive after consuming alcoholic beverages than women. I have decided this for several reasons, the primary one being that when on a date, usually the male drives.ResearchI began my research on the Internet, and found several very useful sights.
Defensive driving can save lives. It can turn a nonchalant call home into a terrifying call home. It is making the choice between stopping at a stop sign or stopping someone’s life. Defensive driving should be a part of everyone’s daily driving routine. If you practice defensive driving you can save yourself time, money, and a lot of headaches. It also benefits you in more ways than one.
Richard Petty once said “You’ll got home safe, so drive safe, and stay safe.” Being a racing legend, he is an advocate for safe driving to minimise the cases of road crushes that have been on the rise. He double up as the chairman of the Veterans’ Safe Driving Initiative, the initiative is aimed at guiding the veterans returning from deployment on safe driving tips. It is necessarily important since the infrastructure has changed over time. Another initiative is being run in Minnesota where the teens are guided on the important safe driving tips. Study shows that more crushes are likely to occur in teen driving than veteran driving. It is also evident that young drivers are more likely to cause a crush within six months of passing the driving test and young male are worse than the females in the field.
This essay is to inform you about certain aspects of driving. In this letter I am going to talk about the effect of response time, a safe following distance, how the stopping distance depends on speed, how to decide what to do at a yellow light and how you have to change your speed around a curve. In the next following paragraphs I will explain each of the topics that I have listed and I will give you a better knowledge of how to be a safer driver.
I do not pretend to be a complete expert in the vast world of men and women. However, as one of these creatures, I decided early on in life to do my best to figure out the relationship between us and our counterparts. This was very interesting to me because, unlike most people, I do not believe that we simply "evolved" to become what we are today. I believe we were created the way we are by a very big God who knew what He was doing, and did it for a purpose. After a mere 18 years of observation, I have concluded that we as humans are trying to look too deeply into the purpose of "man" and "woman." We make the relationship too complicated. We need to stop prying into why men like football and women like quilts, and simply accept that we do. That is the way it is. And as I shall point out, that is the way it is best.
