Joining a discourse community is when you all share a common like or belief. Joining a discourse community can sometimes be a challenge. Rather you’re new at it or been participating in something for a very long time. Every discourse community is different and can be operated differently and by different type of people. They say drill team and dancing is easy and doesn’t take a lot of hard work like in other sports so in this paper I will be sharing with you all my journey of joining drill team/dance team and appealing ethos, logos and pathos.

You can’t have a discourse community without team work or dedication. Say they say there is no I in team. Having teamwork is a big part of drill team. You can’t go to any performance without looking as one. Everything has to be well put together and you’re supposed to dance and look all the same at all times no matter where you are. Teamwork will get you through anything when it comes to dancing.
First part of drill team is practicing techniques and going to camp. This is one of the first team activities that challenges your team ethics. When you go to camp there are a lot of other teams that are there for the same reasons as your team. Camp testes your ability to work as a team. You’re there dancing literally all day for three days straight leaning new dances.
Practicing is the second major part of being on drill team. If you don’t practice you don’t look good at the performance. You practice more than you do anything else. We all know the saying practice makes perfect well this was one of my coach’s favorite sayings. I don’t care if it was twelve in the morning if we didn’t look good or as one we were going to keep practicing until we got the chorography correct and until we looked good as a team.
