The first thing you do when you wake up is dread about how horrible your day will be, just like the school dress code. I remember a time when I was in middle school and I was dress coded for not following the "finger tip rule" for the running shorts I was wearing. I mean I get they were shorts but I have long arms and wasn’t feeling long pants on such a nice spring day. Have you ever wondered why dress code is a thing? What you wear to school definitely doesn’t define you or the type of person that you are in general. First I am going to talk about a girls perspective on school dress code, then a guys, and finally a teacher or principles perspective.

Now we hop in the shower to get clean. In my perspective we are cleaning out all the details and information from a girls perspective on the school dress code rules and guidelines. To a girl the school dress code is very unfair and in a way to them sexist. A girl is being restricted from wearing what they want and what they are comfortable in because according to some they are showing "too much skin." Schools have banned shorts that are too short and don’t follow the finger tip rule, tank tops that have thin spaghetti straps, and basically in general anything that shows a girls skin. A teacher or principle believe that everyone needs to be in a safe and undistracted environment when they are learning. The school dress code to them is just fine and they are always keeping an eagles eye out to spot and hunt down anyone who isn't following it in some type of way. Teachers and principles don’t want students making judgements about others by what type of clothing they are
