From the beginning of this course I had my mind set on graduating with a degree in child development. This degree will get me my dream career of opening up my own child care and preschool center. I have decided to pursue my life as a child care provider because my mother has owner a small family child care (in home) for over twenty years. I have grown to love working with the children and helping run the business. Owning a child care center is not only a dream of mine but it is also my passion and I am determined to make it happen. And, with the help of this course I will be able to make my dream career come true. To reach my career goal I will have quite a bit of work to complete. I have worked at my mother’s in home daycare (it is a licensed daycare) since I was around eight years old. I love working with children, this involves taking care of the infants and toddlers, helping them do their crafts, encouraging them in their development to learn their ABC’s or to write their own name, and much more. I love how I am helping raise the next generation, it always puts a smile on my face when I see a child complete a goal that they have been working on for weeks or even months. There is only one thing that I dislike and that is that the parents will sometimes take advantage of you and they don’t realize how much work goes into caring for sixteen children for twelve hours on a daily basis (excluding Saturdays and Sundays). My strengths are getting on the child’s level and having a conversation with them (not just talking to them), helping the children when they get hurt, and encouraging and giving as much support as I possibly can to every child in the childcare to help them achieve all their goals in a timely
