Introduction
The Dow Chemical Company is referred to as Dow & it is an American MNC whose headquarter is in Midland Michigan, United States. In 2007 it is the second large chemical manufacturer around the globe and its revenue is 10 million dollars. In February 2009 it is the third large chemical company in the world which has market capitalization.
Dow manufactures plastics, chemicals & agricultural products. It is doing business in about 160 countries, & it employs about 54000 people in entire world. The company has seven different major operating segments with a many variety of …show more content…

Following are the points, where the company contradicted their actions with CSR policies:
• Merger with Union Carbide
• Doesn’t take any action towards environment clearance at accident site
• Doesn’t take any concern towards Social welfare which was hurt due to this tragedy
• Products and process

Manufacturing forbidden toxic chemical
If a company agrees with sustainable development, it means that this company should deeply understand its development should ensure that its use of natural resources and its activities impact on the environment today must not destroy future for any kind of resources and environment by next generations.
But obviously the Dow Chemical Company’s words don’t agree with their action.
Although it is one of the richest companies in the world, Dow isn’t to be a good corporation citizenship and was not responsible for the environment. For example, they manufacture and distribute some highly restricted or forbidden chemicals such as DDT, Agent Orange, and Dursban in U.S.A.
