Introduction
Our society is not new with the term violence. Its presence is most common and in fact it is present every were and intense than right behind the door of our homes. Peoples are tortured, beaten abused behind the door. Interestingly it is happening in metros, cities, towns, villages. It is crossing all social classes, genders, racial lines and age groups. The legacy of violence is being passing from generation to generations. Violence is towards someone who we are in a relationship with be it son, wife, husband, grandparents etc. it can be a female or male atrocities towards another male or female. Anyone can be a victim and victimizer. This violence has a tendency to explode in various forms such as physical, sexual, and emotional.

The deep old rooted patriarchal system in the country has led to the sabotage the roles of women by false notions and pretends the role of men on the other hand as power holder in the family outside the family and in the society. The son who were brought up in such an environment where he has seen his mother and sister beaten by his father what do we think he will perceive, he will definitely build the image of male masculinity by becoming violent to her wife and over power her in each and every juncture of life.
Hesitancy to report cases: most of the time women do not complain about their husband’s torture. It is due to social obligation and dominance of old system of accepting violence to be part of women’s life.
