Dollywood Are you looking for a fun, family-friendly amusement park? If so, Dollywood is just for you. Dolly Parton says, “Dollywood is a family park, and all families are welcome.” It is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. It was founded in 1961. At the time, it was called Rebel Railroad. Originally, it was built in spirit of the civil war; it was remodeled and renamed in 1986. It features an amusement park and a water park. In both areas, there are many rides; all of the rides are kid-friendly. There are also lots of entertainment and food choices. Overall, Dollywood is the perfect family vacation spot to visit. First off, Dollywood features a water park and an amusement park. The amusement park is made up of 10 different themed areas: Showstreet, Rivertown Junction, Craftmen’s Valley, The Village, The County Fair, Timber Canyon, Jukebox Junction, Owen’s Farm, Adventures in Imagination, and Wilderness Pass. The first seven parks all reflect the historical era and culture of east Tennessee. Owen’s Farm and Adventures in Imagination represent Dolly Parton’s young life and imagination. There are a total of 23 restaurants, all scattered in the different park areas. You have a craving for a certain food. Name it; they have it. From pizza and burgers to nice, sit-down restaurants. At night, Dollywood has firework shows. During the day, kids can enjoy meeting different characters. There are also parades in the morning and afternoon. In December, there are many entertainments for Christmas including sing-offs and bagpipe playing. All in all, many different things are available at Dollywood.
