You run through the field dodging the soft bullets that are screaming by your heads. You pick up a ball and throw it to the other side of the field. This is dodgeball. It is a game that was played for decades in schools. You throw balls at one another, and the target or opponent must dodge them. Some say, that it should be banned in schools forever. However, I disagree with this position. Dodgeball should be allowed in schools everywhere because it teaches students more physical skills and teaches life skills. First, dodgeball makes kids more active and teaches physical skills. They say that some kids pick on others by targeting them first. They say it is not fair for those kids who get out right away; the less athletic kids could get picked on by the more athletic children. However, according to Top Ten Benefits of Dodgeball, paragraph twelve, it states, “Dodgeball is also a fun way to meet new people or just enjoy a day of fun with friends…” This illustrates that you can make new friends that can help or be nice to you. Even if you make a new friend but lose the game, it is still a win for you. Many people do make friends on the court, and they become real friends like a man and his dog. They are loyal and have our backs.
In conclusion, dodgeball should not be banned. While some say it should be banned because of kids getting picked on, however, dodgeball enhances physical skills and teaches life skills; dodgeball is also a great stress reliever. If we allow dodgeball in our school, we will have a world with athletic kids with good life skills and many friends. If we don’t, we will have a world with obese people that have no life
