On a farm near the state of Oklahoma, there lived a little duck named Dobbles. Dobbles was the most energetic, loud, and crazy duck on the farm. The pond near the farm was his favorite place to play. He and his friends were always having fun and causing mischief at the pond. It was the perfect place to cool off during the summer. One day when Dobbles went to the pond, none of his friends were there. They met at that pond at the same time everyday, so he was very worried. Dobbles looked everywhere for them. He looked behind their favorite log, near the tallest tree, in the water, and in the grass, but he couldn’t find them anywhere. He kept shouting, “Daffy, Donald, Daisy! Is anyone out there?” There was no reply, and Dobbles became very worried. “Huey, Dewey, Louie? Come on guys! This isn’t funny anymore!” he shouted. Dobbles decided that the only thing he could do was go tell Mother Hen that all his friends were missing. Mother Hen was the leader of the farm. She always knew everything, and you could never get anything past her. He knew that if anyone could help him find the other ducks, it would be Mother Hen. When he got back to the farm, there was no one in sight. The farm was always really busy. After looking around the farm for nearly an hour, he saw a black cat run across the lawn nearby. He ran to the cat as fast as he could. He finally caught up to the cat, but it ran away when it saw him. “Hey, wait up! Where is everyone? Why are you running away?” The cat didn’t answer, but he just kept running farther away. Dobbles went back to the pond and sat by a tree. He was so worried about all of the other animals. “Where could they have possibly gone?” he thought. Suddenly, his friend Daisy appeared. “Daisy! Where have you... ... middle of paper ... ...e demanded, waking the cat up. The cat yawned and replied,”Pond? What pond? I don’t know what you are talking about.” “We planned on going to a different pond, and you were supposed to tell Dobbles, remember?” Louie said. “Alright,” the cat said, “I was on my way to tell him this morning when a mouse ran by. Mice usually don’t come that close, so I had to catch him. After that, I completely forgot to tell him.” “But why did you run away when I tried to talk to you?” Dobbles asked. “As soon as I saw you, I remembered. I figured you guys would get mad at me and not ever let me come to the pond again,” the cat said. “We wouldn’t have gotten mad at you,” Daisy said, “But you should’ve told one of us”. “I know,” the cat said, “I’m sorry.” “It’s alright. Come on! Let’s all go to the pond together,” said Dobbles. They all went to the pond together and had a great time.

Aix Sponsa or the Wood Duck is said to be one of the most beautiful breed of ducks in North America. Just is name, Aix Sponsa, means “The Water Bride.” Ever since the first American settlers arrived in the eastern shores of North America people have been mesmerized by the beauty of this colorful animal.
